(yes, I am one myself.) I apologize if I got any information wrong. questions will remain anonymous Q: "How do you what animal you were in the past life?" A: well, it all entirely depends on the therianthrope. some therians don't have a past life, while others do. I fear I might not have had a past life, but i'm figuring it out. Q: "how do you + long does it take to make ur masks?" A: well depends on what animal I'm doing. the one you may have seen on my 'photo' project took a day or slightly less. I used a cat mask bought off of Amazon, hot glued felt over it, added the mesh for the eyes, added the white faux fur I bought from a store, and used a black marker to color it (although you can use any color, it's just was I used). I also added some extra details after too, as you may see. Q: "do you wear masks in front of ppl ? if so, how would they usually react ?" A: yes, I do. they usually either look at me weirdly or just don't care. sometimes I get small kids saying stuff like "look it's a kitty cat" and sweet stuff like that Q: "how did you figure out you were a therian ?" A: well, I first found out what therians were through a friend of mine (who is also a therian). I did a little more research on it as well and started questioning. and here I am, 7 months after my awakening. it may take a while to figure out your theriotype(s), but it's worth while in the end being confident in it. Q: "what does shifting feel like for you ? ^_^" A: it mostly depends on the type of shift, here are the different types: m/mental shifts: where your state of mind changes to more animal-like rather than human-like. it is rare to go into a fully animal mindset, though. p/phantom shifts: you have the ability to feel the limbs of whatever your theriotype(s) are/is, such as ears or tail. it is not very common to get a full body shift from what I know but it is very possible. a/astral shifts: when a person travels to a non-physical plane of existence, usually brought by meditation, lucid dreaming, etc. a person will be able to see the shape of their theriotype in this state. c/cameo shifts: when you shift into any theriotype that is not your own/one of your own. s/sensory shifts: your senses become more "animal-like" in a way, but you don't gain better hearing or sight. you just become more aware of your senses/things you may not have noticed "physical shifts" are not a thing. if someone claims to experience this they might be a clinical lycanthrope or zoanthrope. these are the more known kind of shifts, what you feel/how you experience these can vary depending on the therianthrope. some don't have shifts (which are called con-therians) and they are perfectly valid as well as therians who do have shifts. Q: "What are therians?" A: in simple & short terms, therians are people who non-physically identify as an animal. it can either be psychologically or spiritually. no, we do not think we are animals and we know we're human. masks, tails & quadrobics are often connected to us but it does not define us. talking about common stereotypes: we do not use litter boxes. as much people claim we do, we don't. the majority of us find that weird. therians and furries aren't the same thing. furries are people with interest in anthro/humanoid animals, and they are furries by choice. being a therian isn't a choice. it sticks with you for life while being a furry likely won't. people often assume we are 'without a father' too, while some therians are, the majority of us aren't. it's commonly used as an insult but in no way is it funny. you cannot "become" a therian, you are born as one (but may not figure out until later in life). it is hard to explain this, I'm sure someone else can better than me. "the community is entirely teenagers and younger" while the community may have a lot of young people, there are plenty of adult/older therians. you may just have to try harder to find them. not every therian is shown on youtube or TT, keep in mind. "everyone is female in the community" there is a lot of AFAB people, but trans people in the community are included in the male part of the community. there are plenty of male/masc representing therians as well as other therians with different identities and it shouldn't matter to you what they were born as. "therians are delusional/this is a mental illness/they are fake" therians are not delusional, although some may be confused and might not actually be one. therianthropy is not a mental illness, it is an identity. it does not need to be scientifically proven to be real at all since it is an identity. it is not fake in any way or form. just because you don't experience personally doesn't mean it's not real or people are lying. feel free to ask anything or add on to what I said if you are a therian yourself and are educated.
