After the hour was over, Sarah, Patricia, Ivy, and I got off the train, and stepped onto cool, damp grass. It was pretty cold out, so we all put our cloaks on, and got into one of the boats. “I gotta go,” Patricia said to us. “Okay, bye,” I said. “Bye!” Sarah and Ivy said in unison and burst out laughing, realizing that they said it at the same time. “Firs’ years, over here, firs’ years!” someone called through the darkness. A large figure moved through the night, carrying a lamp. “All righ’, now, hop in a boa’” he said. “Ivy, Ashlee,” Sarah whispered to us, “come here. Get in this one.” “Oh, and you all can call me Ash,” I told them. Around thirty minutes later, we reached shore. 'Wow. This is awesome….' I thought as my eye locked on the castle. The three of us walked into a bright corridor. “What’re we s’posed to do now?” I muttered to them. “Er— I think we’re going to get sorted into our houses,” Sarah answered. “Houses?” I said skeptically. “This is a /castle/, why are there houses?” “Someone’s going to explain to to us—now actually,” Ivy said, and a middle-aged woman wearing her hair in a bun and an emerald-green cloak. She started speaking to us about these “houses,” and calling them our “family.” As I didn’t understand a word of it, I let my mind wander around the room. A large, high-ceilinged hall, with an orange-yellowish light, which was probably due to the fact it was lit by only candles and lanterns. After around a half-hour of this, she lead us into the largest indoor place I had ever seen, and that’s including the basement back at my house. “Eww,” I breathed as the woman brought out a filthy hat on some stool-chair-stand thingy. “Aurelia?” the woman called., and placed the hat onto a girl’s head. “Slytherin!” I jumped as the hat spoke. She sat down at one of the four tables, where I saw Xavier and Draco sitting next to each other at the one where she was heading. “Dianna Black?” “Ravenclaw!” “Maximilian Charleston?” “Slytherin!” it yelled again. “Uh, is it just me or it that a bit disgusting?” I muttered to Ivy and Sarah. “Can’t blame you,” Sarah said back, as a boy named Colin Creevey was made a Gryffindor and sat down at the same table where the Roselette Black girl was also sitting at. “Leonora Diggory?” “Ah, a bit of a twist compared with your brother, now, aren’t you? Ravenclaw!” “Twist?” I said. “Her brother’s probably Cedric Diggory, he’s pretty popular here, I’ve heard,” Ivy breathed, answering me. “Charity Harrington?” “Hufflepuff!” the dirty rag said, as a girl with dirty blonde hair walked up to one of the tables and sat next to a girl with reddish-brownish hair. “Faith Harrington?” “Hufflepuff!” and what would have /had/ to be her twin strode up and sat by her apparent sister. “Hope Harrington?” “Geez, how many ‘Harrington’s are there?” Sarah whispered and probably the other girls’ triplet sat on the far left of the other two. “Ivy Lapis?” “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine,” I said in a normal voice to her. “Hufflepuff!” “Layla Lestrange?” “Slytherin!” as she walked to the table where Xavier and Draco were, and sat next to a girl with whiteish, platinum-blonde hair was. “Luna Lovegood?” “Ravenclaw!” “Ashlee Malfoy?”
