I pull up the latch, the latch I ignored for so long. A basement..? I hesitantly place a foot on one of the rungs, stepping down as I shut the door. I finally reach the floor, running a hand over the stuff covered in dust. I find a key sitting on top of a chest, and I carefully insert it there. I look at the items in it. An old camera, a dagger, and… An old pair of dice. What the— I find a pair of batteries, completely untouched, next to the camera. I open it and put the batteries inside of it, turning it on and looking at all of the pictures on it. How old were these, who was this person- “Star.” Ugh, not again with my last name. What did Leo want..? “Why are you down here? That’s my stuff!” It’s— No way. I hold up the camera. “This is— This is YOU?” I exclaim, laughing as I continue to look through the pictures. “Yes… It is. That’s me, from…” Why did they seem so… Upset? Sad..? “From what? Don’t tell me ‘the future’, that’s impossible…” But it does make sense. If I met my past self… Then- “..It is possible. It is… Very possible. I’m— So sorry.” I run my thumb over the dagger, realizing that there’s a name engraved in it. HADES. That’s… Leo’s..? I thought they were never going back. Well, the dice seemed very familiar, though. “..Hades. What does he have to do with this, Leo!? What does this mean..?” “..Future Me decided to go back, I guess. I don’t exactly know why? I mean, it was my decision to go back, Orion… I’m so sorry, but I know you’ll be okay. And I know that I’ll still love you. So, so much. Now, we should just spend all of the time we have left together, okay..?” “I don’t believe you. You’d NEVER go back! Hades is a terrible father, he’s the God of the Underworld! He’s probably manipulating you into coming back, please!” But it was too late to convince them now. You can’t change the future. Even if you wanted to… (short entry time crunch moment)
