"You look different" Laura's brother, Draco inquired, his pale face showed that he was serious. Laura studied Draco dead in the eye, clearly he wasn't joking about how he looked a bit older after becoming an official teenager. That she was starting to grow wrinkles and that her gray eyes were getting narrower with age. There was something clearly wrong. "How do I look?" Laura asked, Draco's face was getting more serious by the minute. "Check yourself" Draco handed Laura a mirror and almost let out a gasp. She was still pretty, of course, but now, instead of the pixie-cut blond hair, was now replaced with long strands that reached her shoulder. Her eyes which used to be a dark shade of gray were now lighter with the change. Her already pale skin had become even paler. She studied closer to her reflection. she was looking, exactly, like her cousin Luna Lovegood. "What happened to me?" Laura worried, Draco shook his head. "I don't know but you defiantly can't go out like this. Not that your ugly but the but the other Slytherins are going to wonder why Luna Lovegood is in green instead of the Ravenclaw blue" Laura shook her head, she had realized what day it was, "But I have classes today! What are the teachers going to say?" Draco shook his head back, "I don't know but your defiantly going to have to skip classes today. I'll go tell Professor Snape. Surely he'd understand" Laura sighed, "You tell him. He can't see me like this or he'll start calling me 'miss lovegood'" "I mean, I almost called you 'Luna' this morning" "You did what?!" Draco gave a pitiful look, "I'm sorry! Ok?" Laura quickly wanted to change the subject, wanting to forget that this newfound transformation happened at all. "I suppose we should get breakfast" she said quickly "Yeah we should," Draco added, "but aren't people going to wonder why Luna is wearing Slytherin robes" Laura tried to forget her appearance at all, but Draco wasn't helping witxh anything. "It's fine" she quipped, it wasn't and she'd surely wished that she could disappear on the spot at any moment. Her stomach growled, "Let's get something to eat" Draco decided. They headed to the great hall where a hungry feast was waiting. "Morning," Blaise Zabini greeted as Draco and Laura sat on the opposite side of him, "Um, Draco, why is your cousin wearing Slytherin robes?" Laura let out a groan as Draco sighed and told Blaise everything. "So, the girl I'm looking at right now is your sister?" Draco nodded. "Dang" Blaise gasped as he finished his porridge Laura didn't eat anything although her stomach screamed for her to do so. Draco tried to offer her food but she declined saying that she wasn't hungry. She got up and left with Draco to go tell Professor Snape that she couldn't attend class today. __________ Continued in credits
"You don't look that bad" Draco admitted as they passed the the third corridor Laura shook her head "That's not the point! All it matter is what happened to me and how to restore my true appearance before anyone ELSE sees's me like this " As if Laura's fears came true, a girl with dirty blond hair had stopped them. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity, her butterbeer cork necklace dangled on her neck. She wore radish earrings that looked absolutely repulsive. "Hello, Luna" Laura greeted without looking up but she knew that her Ravenclaw cousin was looking strangely at her. "La- Laura!" Luna gasped as if they hadn't met in years. Her eyes widened and Laura turned to actually face her. Her heart skipped a beat, the events from the mirror replayed in her mind. Apart from the butterbeer necklace and the radish earrings, she was the exact reflection of Luna Draco stood there awkwardly as the two girls stared at each other "What happened to you?" Luna asked Laura who didn't want to repeat the morning even again. Luckily, Draco saved her. "She woke up like this," he explained, "We're going to Snape's office to ask if she can skip classes" Luna nodded, following every word Draco said. "Must be the nargles" Luna whispered after some time, "They're always the cause of something like this" Laura gave a shaky laugh, "Nice try but I don't think they're the cause of this this time" Luna chuckled, "You don't know what the nargles are capable of" she said, "Happy birthday by the way" '"Happy birthday to you, too" Laura said back. It was strange that the two cousins shared the same birthday. Both of them were born on the same year, the same day, and (According to Laura's mother and Luna's too before she died) were only a few minutes apart. Ever since they were born, they clung to each other whenever their families had visited and cried when they left. It was until the day of Luna's mother, Pandora Lovegood's, funeral. Laura's father, Lucius Malfoy, had just said something nasty about the magazine Luna's father, Xenophilius Lovegood, edited. Lucius and Xenophilius had a fight until the breaking point when Laura's mother, Narcissa Malfoy, and Draco had to drag Lucius and Laura (who was trying to comfort Luna) back home, and to Luna and Laura's disappointment, they never saw each other (at least in person) again until they got their Hogwarts letters. They stayed in the same compartment with each other (added with Draco and his minions) . After Draco and his gang left for the feast, Luna and Laura were left behind with with the other first years and shared a boat with Weaselette and Rosie Diggory (Weaselette was thrown into a chamber later that year) . The cousins cried when they were sorted into different houses but they still spent hours in the library. That was until Laura made friends with the other Slytherin girls. It probably made Luna feel isolated because she hung out with Laura rarely. The only time the two cousins hung out with each other was when no one saw them, because, due to Luna's beliefs, clothes, and perspective, she was often humiliated and teased, Laura didn't want to go through the same things Luna did. The Slytherins were nice to Luna, of course (Laura forced them to be) it was just Weaselette and her gang that made fun of the most slightest things, from teachers to fashion senses. Draco and Laura were about to go and leave the corridor when Luna interupted them, "I think I should go with you," she blurted,, "So that Snape doesn't mistake Laura as me" Draco and Laura nodded as Luna joined them on the journey to the dungeons. ____________ Author's note: This is soo much better than the Isabell fanfic. I think it's because the original version of this fanfic I wrote on paper so I can edit a bit it when I type it onto the screen (It's also why this chapter is so loong) and it's based of my top 2 favorite characters (Luna Lovegood & Draco Malfoy)
