I found this in my old AA files (hence the old background), and thought it was good enough to post here (since I don't have time to make anything new rn) I believe when I made this, I was on page 301 of Richard William's "Animator's Survival Kit," and on that page was a way to animate whips and waves, so I decided to test that with Gold Doubloom from SIGMA. I'm still trying to figure out what style I should make the show in. I rewatched Paper Puppets Take 2: Episode 15 again (I love that episode so much, hopefully when I'm 16 I'll apply to animate for the show) on the day I made this animation and probably tried to emulate the style idk. This likely won't be the official SIGMA style, but idek anymore.
This was made on 24 fps, but I animated the scene on "three's" (meaning every 3 frames would be a change/keyframe) so it looks fine enough running it on 30. However, I do recommend running it on 24 fps here: https://turbowarp.org/1051817839?fps=24 I do think the lighting and shadow works here. I did the lighting by making a big blurred yellow oval, moving it to the upper half of the screen, and setting it to "overlay," making sure it's above all other layers. For the shadow, I duplicated the animation, flipped it, moved/warped it into position, set the brightness to zero and applied the "overlay" effect again.
