Why I'm Quitting Scratch ==================================== (READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION) If you are here, you are probably a follower or fan, wondering why I am going to quit. Here are a few reasons: 1. Hate To be honest, I haven't really received any hate. But a lot of people have. And I have a few guesses why. - They are jealous - They are bored and they just do it as "fun" - They are people who just don't want to be nice, for no reason. - They are new to scratch and don't know what they are doing. (not really) I think the fact that some people are jealous is probably the most common. To the haters who do it because of this reason: Those people worked hard to succeed. Maybe you should do it too. They deserve to get their views, their feedback, their follows. Because they worked hard for it! 2. The Community I bet Scratch before was better. (though I'm pretty new to Scratch) Now, people are more focused on follows and views. IT DOESN'T MATTER. You should be more focused on getting feedback and improving. Why can't people help each other and not worry about fame? Now, I don't mean that if you are famous, you aren't good. Hopefully, you earned those follows rightfully and actually make good quality projects. I'm not an enemy to fame or whatever, if I could have it, I would. But that shouldn't be your top goal. I think that the most reasonable point of having followers is to share your ideas and projects with others. 3. Generic-ness I'm just bored of seeing generic platformers ALWAYS on trending. I bet most of them are just copying code from other platformers and all they do is design the art and levels. Make something exciting! Honestly, I don't look at HALF the projects on trending because all of them are generic. Only some, which are actually interesting and fun, I would look at them. 4. Motivation I just lost my motivation right now. If you want me to get more motivation, comment right now of what you think about these reasons so I know you care. Please. Also, if you haven't realized, I haven't been on Scratch for the past couple of days. But I didn't get One. Single. Message. Even if someone just, say, asks for feedback or something, it makes me happy that someone actually cares to improve. Nobody does anymore, it seems. 5. Ideas I don't really have many ideas, especially because almost nobody makes things that aren't generic. Why do you make boring, generic projects? Is it just because you want to get views or get on trending, or is it because you want to improve and try something new? I bet 90% of the people just want fame, and LESS than 10% want to improve. Be creative! 6. I don't know A lot of big Scratchers are leaving too. Why? Probably the same reasons listed here. If you are still reading, comment "Improve!" or something like that. Soon, if we don't change anything, Scratch will just be a bunch of people getting followers. Maybe they even might throw in REAL money JUST to get a follower. This is just ironic. Don't care so much about irrational things. I ask just one question: Why? Why do you care about things that don't matter? Can't you just worry about more important things? So now, my real message will be shown below. I am not leaving Scratch. Yes, this whole thing was just some baloney. :) Not everything, though. I meant everything I said. And if we don't change things soon... I will leave. Maybe for a while, maybe forever. But if you could do two things, which would it be? 1. Make somebody's day by doing the right thing. 2. Never change and always care about dumb things. Don't destroy Scratch...
The smart people will improve. The people who just don't care will never. Be the smart people. I might even be so dramatic and give a quote. :P "What you do today can improve all your tomorrows." -Ralph Marston That felt good. Let me do it again :) "Some people want it to happen, some people wish it would happen, others make it happen." -Michael Jordan "Let the improvement of yourself keep you so busy that you have no time to criticize others." -Roy T. Bennett "Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything." -George Bernard Shaw And many more. Comment some below. If you care... And a poem. With each new dawn, I face the test To improve, to grow, to be my best I strive to learn, to adapt and change To shed old habits, and rearrange My thoughts, my actions, my heart's desire To reach new heights, and never tire I push myself, through trials and strife To emerge stronger, and more alive With every step, with every fall I rise again, and stand tall I learn from mistakes, and move ahead And in the process, I find my thread Of self-improvement, of growth and might A journey inward, a beacon in sight Guiding me forward, through the darkest night Towards a brighter tomorrow, shining bright. (This wasn't by me.) (idk why this is here, so weird :>) I don't mean to be dramatic. But sometimes it works. If you are still reading, I may give yet ANOTHER quote-ish thingy. Please read it. And leave a :) to make someone's day. You might be the only one who can give kindness. Even though it's free. "Put this on your profile if you want to improve. 97% won't and 3% will." - @hanw_playZ meh Be the 3% And if you leave Scratch, don't be dramatic if you make a project. It just sounds weird ;-; lol I'm #1 on trending if you search "Why I'm Quitting Scratch" :P
