About this photo: This cloud's name is a cumulonimbus calvus ( kyoo-myuh-low-nim-buhs) and is a type of thunderstorm cloud, known to create heavy precipitation (very common), snow or snow pellets, and hail. These hailstones flooding out of the clouds can be quite heavy at times, so be sure you're in a safe space, or have a safe spot for you and your family! These anvil shaped clouds are also known to produce lightning and winds up to 60 MPH. (Miles Per Hour) Now, if these winds are just right, there are known to more than likely create a tornado, or more rarely 2!
