New responsibilities and threats signal the need for the Catonya Defense Forces to equip its airborne troops (VDV) with new, purpose built infantry fighting vehicles to transport, protect, and support their air assault troops with the greatest possible efficiency. Required is a vehicle that can provide superior protection, tactical and strategic mobility, and firepower than what current service wheeled APC platorms and the modified BMP-D can provide. Specific requirements: Seating capacity - 8 dismounts + crew Protection - Resistant to 20/25mm APDS from the front and to 14.5mm AP, no less (as per STANAG-4569 standard) Mobility - maximum speed of 50 mph, no less. Wheeled or tracked platforms are accepted but tracked platforms will be favored. Weight - no more than 25 tons, ideally less than 20 tons Armament - a) 30-mm autocannon compatible with SATO standard ammunition b) Coaxial machine gun 12.7x99mm/7.62x51mm c) Anti-tank guided missile launcher, fitted for but not with (FFBNW) Transportation - a) Must fit in the cargo hold of A13 tactical airlifter b) Must be compatible with vehicle parachute system c) Must be transportable on existing vehicle transportation platforms (truck/train trailers, transport ships in a full load roll-on/roll-off configuration)
