Time flew by, and before you knew it, it was time to board the train! “Platform 6 3/4…Platform 6 3/4…WHERE IS IT?!” Mom mumbled. “Blaire, don’t get too worked up. I know the way. Follow me,” Dad put his arm around Mom’s shoulder. He led us the station…Eventually. “Do me had to go to Teachboo wid Pawis?” Mary Jane asked. “Haha! You don’t start school for a long time, Squirt!” I poked her nose and she did the adorable baby giggle! *** We were now boarding the train!! I saw Lily and we picked a row to sit in together. Our parents were talking the whole time and Mary Jane and Lily’s little brother Andrew were speaking Gibberish. Lily and I were talking and making up jokes. But also, deep inside, I was really nervous. I think Lily felt the same way too. “Welcome to Beachview, school of Magic and Beauty! Please stay seated until we reach the train station.” The train conductor June shouted. “Eeeeeeeehhhh!!!” Lily and I squealed. When we got off the train, we went straight to the entrance for first years, where a hippocampus was standing/laying down. “Welcome! First years through this gate.” Her loud, deep voice echoed. We went all the way to the main room. I saw it. The SORTING SHELL! We all rushed to get in line to be sorted. I saw a student’s robes turn teal and white. Oceania! Time passed by and more students were sorted. “Oh, no. It’s my turn,” I muttered. I held the beautiful shell in my hands and opened my eyes. Teal and white colours burst out of my robe. Yes!! I got Oceania! But Lily was up next. Uh-oh. Those weren’t Oceania colours. Those were Urchina colours! She ran happily toward the cheering Urchina table and our eyes met. She mouthed ‘Sorry’ to me and I turned away. Had my best friend betrayed me?
