★ PotC Tunnel of Dreams: Rings and Spectres pt. 1 °`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°` "Come, Henry, we must go to the tailor's!" the voice of Elizabeth Turner rang out despite the din of the noisy plaza. Elizabeth, Henry, and Carina were exploring the local market, a lengthy street with small stalls scattered around it that circled around a large, rusted statue of the members of the organisation that included the most infamous pirates to roam the seas; the Brethren Court. Elizabeth's statue was newly made beside the first Pirate King, as she was the second one to exist. Henry noticed that Jack Sparrow's statue seemed to be recently cleaned, but was soon covered with spoiled food, murky oil, and bird droppings. 'He must have lots of different acquaintances...' Henry thought, as he turned his attention back to his mother. "You and Carina go on ahead, I have something I need to take care of." he replied, smiling, as Elizabeth and Carina went across the street to the windowed tailor's shop. Henry went in the other direction, where he entered a jewellery shop filled with gems such as rubies and topaz. It was a two-storied building; the shop was on the main floor while the owner lived on top of his business. Henry noted that it seemed to be the - there was no other way to say it - cleanest looking shop on the street. Henry looked around inside the shop until he spotted the jeweller over by a long, dark green desk where he was examining the quality of an emerald necklace. "Pardon me, sir," Henry said humbly as he addressed the jeweller; "I'm looking for an engagement ring, I heard you sold them here?" he asked. "Ah, yes, we sell both the silver and gold rings during this time of year. It is wedding season after all. Would you care to take a look?" The jeweller inquired. He had a deep voice that reminded one of poetry, and his wavy, raven black hair was flowing to his shoulders. "Yes, please," Henry returned eagerly, as the jeweller put his book about mythology down and turned Henry towards the rings section. Henry spent about half an hour looking at rings, and was starting to think he ought to go back to his mother and Carina when he spotted it: an elegant, silver ring that had tiny engravings of stars and constellations that seemed to twist along and connect to a shining, deep red ruby that was carefully placed on the ring. "I'll take this one," Henry said, his eyes shining in joy as he held the ring in his hand. "Wonderful! And what message would you like engraved on the inside of the ring?" °`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°` ⚔️ Notes: ● This chapter isn't meant to be split into two parts, but the word count ran out lol ● In the 1600s and 1700s, European lovers exchanged silver rings with a message engraved inside. The silver engagement ring would then be exchanged for a gold ring at the wedding. ● Part 2: ● Previous chapter: ● Prologue:
