CHAPTER 2 Star opened her eyes to find herself trapped high up in the sky. She was on a small pillar, and she was chained to it. Also, her wings were clamped. She looked at her friends. They were also chained to a small pillar each. Star looked up- and then down. She saw an arena. She had read about it- and where she was. Star and her friends had been trapped in the SkyWing Kingdom. Star looked up and saw two SkyWings flying down to their pillars. “You are going now to see the queen. You will show full respect and no attacking.” one of them said. The guards unchained Star and her friends from the pillar, and brought them down to a palace, which Star recognised as Queen Rose’s Palace. They arrived at the palace, and then they were told to go inside. Star and her friends went in silently. So this wasn’t their day of freedom. There, in front of the four dragonets, was a dark red, jewellery covered dragon- Queen Rose of the SkyWings. She had 3 necklaces with rubies hanging from each of them. Star thought it was a bit much. “Amber, not right now- go.” Queen Rose shooed an amber coloured dragonet, then turned to them. “So these are the dragonets of the oh so great prophecy. Ugh. Well, first- I need to know all of your names.” “You, NightWing, what’s your name?? Tell me now.” “I’m Star.” “What about you, SkyWing?” Rose asked Storm. “Storm.” She replied quietly. She then asked the other two their names, both with quiet replies. “Very well, take them back to the pillars, I’ll put them in sometime tomorrow.” Queen Rose said. The two SkyWings that took them to Rose’s palace took them back up to their pillars, where they got chained up again. “Well, that was not a good hatching day.” Python sighed. Hatching day! Star had forgotten that today was the longest day- her and her friend’s hatching day! Star agreed with Python. This wasn’t the hatching day she was expecting. Later that night (but it was still bright outside), all of them got a single rabbit to eat. They hadn’t had lunch, but Star suspected that was what life was like for a SkyWing prisoner. After all the day’s confusing events, Star drifted off to sleep. She had a weird dream. Python was spinning around, changing from orange to purple to blue, then to orange again. Snowball was breathing ice everywhere, but then it hit Python- but then the ice came off him and turned purple, then hit Storm who was breathing fire until she was suddenly freezing in purple ice. Star saw herself sleeping, then her wings turned purple, then brown, then it looked like her dream was over, as the morning sunlight interrupted it. Python was asleep, but Snowball was awake playing with the chains. But when Star looked around to Storm’s pillar, she couldn’t see her. Could the purple ice have been real, and magical? Could it have turned Storm invisible? Star remembered that wasn’t possible, and the purple ice was in her dream. “Welcome to today’s match in our arena!” A loud voice called from somewhere below. Python woke up with all the noise. “What was that?” he asked. “We have an exciting match approaching- in only a few seconds! See, last night the Fourth Prophecy dragonets were caught and taken here- and now we have one of them fighting here, now!” The loud voice spoke again- and Star noticed it was coming from a dragon who was calling out to the same arena she saw the day before- The SkyWing arena. The dragon seemed to be presenting the competitors now. “Now, I give to you all- Storm of the SkyWings!” There was a lot of loud murmuring. “Ooooh the SkyWing from the Fourth Prophecy!” “Hope she wins!” “And her competitor, after winning a battle against Kelp, we have- Squelch of the MudWings!” There were some boos from the crowd. A red-brown dragon walked out into the arena. Star scanned the arena, and saw Queen Rose on a throne-like structure. Suddenly Star remembered something- her vision! She had seen Storm pinning a MudWing to the ground- and now she was about to fight one! But suddenly Star remembered- she hadn’t seen the end of the vision. What if Squelch injured Storm really badly, or maybe even killed her? “The match will end when a competitor is badly injured or forfeits.” The announcer said. “Now- begin!” Storm looked nervous. The MudWing, Squelch, started charging towards her. Frightened, Storm let out a blast of fire and sped away from Squelch. Why wasn’t Storm surrendering? She might have not heard the announcement about forfeiting. It was very loud. Squelch shot fire at Storm’s wing. Star couldn’t watch. She covered her eyes, hoping that when she opened them all four dragonets would be back resting on the mountain. She opened her eyes. Storm was pinning Squelch to the ground- just like in Star’s vision. Then, Storm raised her talon…
Please don't insult my artwork. Sorry I couldn't include chapter 3, it's just if I did it would have been too long.
