8/8/24 ꒱ The Way I Am Now ☆ 5 ⏰ ᴛᴀᴋᴇɴ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ - 2 ᴅᴀʏs ☎️ Warning - I tried my best to leave out any spoilers from my review, but there still may be some /slight/ spoilers❗️ ꒰ I just finished "The Way I Am Now", and it's such a beautiful second book in the series. Towards the end, I literally started crying happy tears because Eden & Josh finally got the ending they deserved. Also, the way the story ended was so sweet᠆᠆ How Smith brought back such important little details from the story and wrapped it all up. (The fountain, the tattoo parlor, Amanda and Gen, Eden's clarinet, and the dandelions. ꒰ The ending was so amazing and breathtaking, one of the best conclusions i've every read. My heart and mind is so satisfied with the way it ended, and I couldn't have asked/read a better ending to the duology. ꒰ A genuine 5-star, maybe even 6-star read!! ꒰ I honestly didn't really expect to have this much emotional attachment to the second book (as I read the first book almost half a year ago!) However, the way Amber Smith wrote this book- and especially knowing that this story was inspired by her own personal experience made it so hard but eye-opening when reading. ꒰ This song reminds me of the song FEARNOT by LeSserrafim. I love that song a lot; it's so underrated and ngl I forget about it a lot, but everytime I hear it I fall in love with the song all over again. Although I may not understand the whole song, it makes me feel so hopeful; like coming through something tough, which is why the song reminds me of the book. FEARNOT and "The Way I Am Now" definitely have their similarities, and I love both of them so much. ꒰ Overall, the way Smith managed to make me remember what happened in the first book while not having excess filler shows how amazing this book is, and the book is definitely one of the top books (out of the 60-ish) books I've read so far this year! ꒰ #mentalawareness #health #romance ☎️ no quotes this time </3 ꒱
