hiii ~ (WARNING: CREEPY BLINK AND GRIEF DEPICTED) I had zero time to finish this :sob: I've been working on this for a while but I wasted several days on the cursed walk cycle. Then I couldn't do anything for a week strait do to camp, and then I got sick. So here's my WIP. :') I don't care as much about winning than finishing. But it's okay. I'll finish it anyway. Now I don't really have time to write her full story but here's something: ~ BIO: Name - Reselda Mary Age - Seventeen (in cat) Gender - Female Mother - Rosemary Likes - sea shells, herbs, healing, peace, serenity, quiet, wind, purple and blue, sunsets, waves, bees, and snow Dislikes - loud noise, birds, wet fur, cold, winter, rain, mud, and obnoxiousness. Rosemary (the herb) symbolizes: remembrance, loyalty to love, protection, growth, healing. I include all of these in this story and in the parts I haven't written out yet. - The Tale of Reselda: - WARNING - (some minor themes of d3@th and grief) My story lies on the northern cliffs looking out onto the sea where my mother raised me. I could never leave for her spirit dwelt amongst the salty air. My mother's name was Rosemary. After she unalived from a harsh sickness I changed my name from to Reselda Mary for she had always said that names have special meaning. With time our names change and must grow with us. My mother used to live with a very tribunal group. She taught me their culture so I could live as pure as they did. Rosemary itself means a lot to me as not only was it my mother's name but we used it for many things. She would never say but I think that mother changed her name to Rosemary because of the remembrance of her culture that it brings. I lived in solitude for the majority of my youth. Lonely, but I made due. It wasn't until I met Kit did I find true joy again. I had been resting on my bed of rosemary (One of our odd sounding traditions. The herb is believed to bring protection.) When a snap echoed through the trees. Scared silly I darted through the trees. It wasn't long before I realized it could have simply been a twig falling. My mother would tell me many tales true and tall alike. Not all were about butterflies. Being alone with grief made me live in my imagination and these tales. Suddenly a leaf falling is a deadly hawk. I stalked back to my home still on edge. There I found a curious tom gazing at my collections of things. He was stark black with orange specs caressing his pelt. I hadn't seen another cat in so long it left me frozen with fear. He noticed me within moments. "Oh, sorry!!" He yelped. In my daze I realized he was limping on one paw. Without thinking I pointed it out, "Your hurt." He looked down at his paw. "Oh, well, yes, I suppose so." He turned back to me, "Are you the only one who lives around here?" "I- I'm not entirely sure." The strange cat began backing out of my den. "My clan-mates and I-" "Clan-mates?" The name sounded like something my mother would have used. "Yes, clan-mates. We're hoping to settle here. If your the only one living here then this place is perfect." "Let me fix your paw..." No matter how terrified I was I couldn't help but heal. My mother said no matter who it is we should always help. "Oh it's fine." "I insist." I wrapped his paw in a balm of herbs and cobwebs. "Keep off it for a couple days and it should be healed." "Thank you." His eyes looked at me with wonder. "I should probably go now..." "Perhaps..." "Goodbye then." "Bye..." The cat disappeared with a flick of his tail. I was alone once more. Throughout the month I would find cats in the woods. I kept my distance and managed not to be found again. But the cat found me again. "Hi." I heard the voice say behind me. I yelped and flipped to find the midnight-pelted cat again. "Sorry to bother you but I never got your name." "You...You came here for my name?" The cat shuffled his paws. "Well yes...I'm Kit." I was dumbfounded and annoyed. Why couldn't I just live in peace? Mabye he'd leave if I gave my name. "I'm Reselda Mary. Now if you could be so kind. I have things to do." "Yes sorry." And so Kit left. I began having many encounters with Kit similar to this. He would tell me about his life in his 'clan.' At first I would turn him away. But over time I began to look forward to his visits.
"Reselda," He began on a sunny Autumn afternoon. "Would you ever consider meeting my clan?" "I think I prefer it here," I gently declined. But that winter was harsh. Snow lined the beach and icicles hung from every tree. Wind would sweep snow into my den. I could never get warm enough. The once plentiful woods had no life. I wondered if it was from the winter or the abundance of new cats. "The camp is much warmer," Kit commented, curled up at my side. "We have food too." "I have food here." "Don't lie. You wouldn't be so skinny if you did." I glanced at now visible ribs. "What if...I just stayed for the winter?" "That would be perfect!" He beamed. "We can go now!" "Now?" "Yes come on! You can grab your things later." And so we made way through the bare forest. The first sign of the clan's camp was a bracken tunnel. A pale cat sat at it's entrance. "Kit!? Where have you been?! Who's this?!" I ducked behind Kit. He didn't tell them about me? "This is Reselda Mary, she needs a place to stay for the winter." It wasn't the complete truth but I let it slide. "Just because you were a rogue doesn't mean you can just bring in any cat you find," The gruff tom scowled. Kit's smile disappeared. "Well...it isn't up to you." The tom sighed, "I suppose it isn't. Follow me." I crept through the bushes into a wide clearing. Dens of all kinds lined the edges of the camp. Cats of all ages strolled around but one cat in particular held an aura of superiority. She was the one we went to. "That's our leader, Morningstar" Kit whispered to me. The guard murmured something to the leader before she acknowledged us. "Kit is this who you've been disappearing to?" Kit turned as red as a rose. "I- I..." "If you tell me the truth then you'll get into less trouble," the leader interjected. "Yes...I'm sorry..." "You never told me that you weren't supposed to meet with me!" I said. I bowed my head when Morningstar narrowed her eyes at me. "I don't just let cats come and leave as they please. Especially when we are low on food. However, if you wish to /join/ our clan I would consider it," said the leader. "If I did wish to join how would I do so?" I asked. Kit was gazing at me with hope in his eyes. "Well we would vote to see what everyone thinks. If the majority votes for you to stay then you would be a member. You would have to partake in our life; we all take care for each other, you would have to hunt and fight with us. Do you have any skills?" "I can heal..." Morningstar gave me a small smile. "That is something we are lacking here." Would my mother have stayed? I wished I knew why she left my father and her tribe. "Well then, I believe I would like to join your clan." By then many of the clan cats were staring at me. "Really?!" Kit asked, his voice full of joy. "Yes," I smiled. "Then a clan meeting should be adjourned. Oh, I almost forgot; what is your name?" "Reselda Mary." "Lovely." Morning star jumped on top of a large tree stump and called for everyone to gather. She introduced me to the gawking eyes. Only Kit's sweet smile kept me from running away. I closed my eyes when the voting began, terrified of the final answer. I didn't try to count knowing it would just make me nervous. "Well it looks like we have a new clan-mate! Welcome Reselda Mary." My smile was only second to Kit's. I was told that I would be a healer and that Kit would train me in the ways of the clan.
