You might notice that they seem to look the same as the very first life. That is, until anything passes in front of them! Then, they extend their deadly spike into their prey, tearing through their cell wall and sucking out their insides. They mostly target young cells, with the older ones having a shell that their relatively soft spines aren't adapted to penetrating yet. However, they can still feed on chemicals directly from the thermal vents in times when prey is low. Their lifespan is indeterminate.
Yeah these are basically the first life (from the project this is remixed from) but with a spine added, so credits to FossaEnjoyer (I struggle to make my own art, at least usually)
