CHARACTERS: All aus of Jindyl. From left to right they are: Bandit, Mob, Prime, Zombie, Doctor, and Canny. MUSIC: "Monodrama" and "Sparkle: Behind the Curtain" by HoYoMiX Idk I haven't been very active so none of yall have rlly seen my recent art! So I may as well share the art process of this art I'm rlly proud of I drew it like two days ago i think There's some blood on the original image so I cropped it out for scratch baby policies but if you're desperate to see it you can edit the code inside (set the size to 100 instead of 110) Anywayssss let's get into it!! 1: Getting a reference. This art was an homage to the final shot of Sparkle's trailer! I usually don't use references to pose but since this is an homage I decided to for the most accuracy. 2: Sketch. Dw when I was drawing this it was much less chaotic than how it looks. Three different layers, one for the background, one for the characters, one for the foreground. 3: Lineart. My least favorite stage. I accidentally started coloring on Bandit's pants oops. This stage looks so funny without the foreground. This was so painful... i kept putting solid lineart in places where it wasn't needed or vice versa it was terrible. And designing over half these characters on the fly wasn't exactly easy either. 4: Base colors. More designing on the fly, yay! (literally only Prime and Doctor already had designs prior to this.. ouch...) 5: Foreground. Let me tell you this part was also not very easy. It turns out having parts overlapping on another layer while being on one layer is difficult to pull off. oopsies !! Also I could not for the life of me figure out what certain things in the reference were (case in point the yellow thing) so I just winged it. 6: Background. Surprisingly simple. I thought it'd be harder but the original image has a pretty simple composition. 7: Blur. A combination of Gaussian Blur and Perspective Blur gave it some perspective (and made it look slightly less crunchy on this tiny site). EDIT: oops, as i was exporting the stuff for this turns out I missed a step! coloring the lineart! I did that before I blurred oopsies. 8: Base shading. Pretty self-explanatory. I discovered Linear Burn recently and it's so much better than Multiply omg. Much stronger and more vibrant. 9: Base lighting. Add with yellow never fails me. 10: Some more effects. Mostly Overlay and Hard Light i think. 11: Final adjustments. Color tweaking and another overlay filter to make it look nice and hopefully prevent ai usage?? idk it looks pretty And done! I'm rlly proud of this and I'm so sad Scratch made it so crunchy ;-; Anyway uh yeah! if you want to see the full quality image and don't know my TH then uh too bad.
