“General! Catch!” Wrecker threw an explosive at me. I snatched it out of the air easily. “It’s gonna blow! Get down!” I screamed as I pelted it at the stronghold’s door. BANG. I fly backwards, hitting a wall. I hear a crack. But I have to get back up. “General! Where did you go?” Hunter is calling me, but as I try to stand up, my leg gives way. “Karabast!” I exclaimed. It’s not long before I find Hunter helping me up. “Thanks, Hunter. Let’s get back out there.” He nods and runs to where the stronghold door has been blown apart, and begins to fire his blaster at the battle droids. I try and run after him, but it’s no use. I risk a look down at my leg. I’m missing a foot. Oh well, I try and tell myself. Nope. That is definitely not working. I look around for anything, anything at all. Then I realise. I don’t need both feet. I’m a Jedi. So I jumped all the way over to the door, dodging and deflecting blaster fire on my way. I see Clone Force 99, waiting for me down below. “Go go go!” I yelled, pointing at the interior of the building. I can already sense what’s inside. And for some reason, I don’t dread it. “Count Dooku.” I said solemnly. He smiled in his awful, wicked way. “Long time no see, Lesaner.” He replied in his oily voice. “Leave, Dooku. Reinforcements are on their way. You don’t stand a chance.” “How about you get out of my way, child?” “Make me.” I unsheathed my lightsabers, and stood in a position I hoped would hide the fact I was cripple and in no state to fight. “Big words for someone who is clearly quite hurt.” He’s noticed. Dooku threw his lightsaber at me. It missed by a hair. My senses were all over the place. He advances, and I try to duck but he already has me pinned to a wall, his lightsaber about to slice through my neck. “Get away, you piece of Bantha dung!” I screamed. I felt hate bubble and boil inside my head. I wanted to push him off the highest cliff in the Galaxy. “You know, with that amount of anger, you would make a good Sith.” He smirked. This is it. I die here. But, against all odds, a rock falls from above and hits Dooku on the head. He falls backwards, knocked out cold. “YEAH! THAT’S RIGHT!” Wrecker’s voice yells from above. A thud shakes the ground, letting me know that he’s landed near me. “Nice one, Wrecker.” I tried to say, but it came out in a hoarse whisper. “General? You ok?” His voice sounds distant, as though he’s behind a wall. “General!” “General, can you hear me?” I want to say yes. I want to open my eyes and smile and give them a thumbs up. But my eyes say, hmm, maybe not. And then darkness takes me away gently into a deep, black slumber. “AHHHHHHH!” I wake up surrounded by bright white light, in an unfamiliar room. I can feel sweat dripping down my forehead, and my robes are clinging to my skin. “Woah, easy there.” I look to my side. Rex is sitting on a chair, grimacing. “Rex? What?” I said, dazed. “I just got back from a mission with General Skywalker and Commander Tano. Thought I’d come see how you’re faring.” “Wha…….how long have I been out for?” I rub my eyes. It feels like glue has been holding them shut. Rex passes a glass of water. I take it gratefully. “About three days, apparently. You lost a lot of blood in the battle.” That’s when I remember. I’ve been maimed. I lift up the blankets at the end of the bed. What looks like a metal claw is sticking out of my ankle, where my foot used to be. “They’re still working on it.” He shrugged. “It’ll look better soon.” His attempt at reassuring me does nothing. “Thanks for trying, Rex, but that did nothing.” I replied, leaning back into the pillows. He laughs hoarsely. “Yeah, I know. That’s a pretty big thing, loosing a foot. At least it wasn’t your entire leg.” It’s my turn to laugh now. “I’d best be off, General. Good to see you’re getting better.” He nods curtly. “Bye, Rex. That is for stopping by.” I smile and wave. He leaves. Now I’m alone. Terribly alone, in a bright room that somehow manages to still be very, very cold. And I can’t stop thinking about Dooku’s words.
