* A spoiler to Sentakushi. DO NOT READ if you don't like spoilers! * ~~~ It was a struggle, to live under the brand new dome of Earth. The human government promised peace, so long as elves didn't use their abilities. Still, it's become impossible to distinguish between elf and human- now everyone has glowy skin and multi-colored hair. Except, now, all elves also wore cuffs that cut off their power as a precaution. Normani gave up on looking for new friends. They died after too long, anyways. Some were 80, though they still looked young and had the human body. Being separated from everyone else, she no longer had the rest of her friends. That was how it was among the world, now. Humans were happy, with their new looks. Elves were separated. She also gave up on trying to speak to Kiyani- who's pride seemed heavily wounded by this turn of events. Right after the war, the Four Provinces merged into one Elvin kingdom- while the humans merged into one very large country with a democratic government. The newest king of the elves was still unknown, though he stepped in immediately. It was peaceful, yet, elves and humans crawled all around the globe, all in each other's territories. It was exhausting. Also, elves were required to have last names, now. "Normani Manara. Will you please come with us?" She glanced up, although she had only been sitting under a tree, tracing the curved scar on her hip. Her memory flashed back to that day. How they had lost Burina- since she chose to save Normani. Guilt clogged her throat, even as she realized that the male was accompanied by another. Both were clad in golden armor, wielding crystal swords with silver bands to restrain their power. The king's guard. In a moments notice, she stood, being led away- though not told why. The palace was a long walk, due to the elves refusal to use human technology- and weren't allowed to use their own. How fair. She found herself taking in the sights; the sparkling lake with pearly white swans and their babies, the porcelain statues of previous monarchs. Normani stopped, her heart dropping to the ground. The most recent statue was a tall woman, with a long ponytail that was brown. The stone didn't quite catch the intelligent glint in her dark red eyes, however, it did feature her with a short staff and light royalty robes with a bright red dress. A crow was perched on her shoulder. Normani didn't know that Inyusoka died. She eyed the slight curve of her normal smile, even as tears welled up unexpectedly, remembering the last time she saw her. The guards ushered her on, though she had a feeling they felt the same way. A few minutes later, she was in the middle of the throne room. A much louder version of the previous guards stepped up, puffing out his chest, though his stomach was bigger than it anyways. "Introducing the Royal Guards; Emira Mahei, Chikyuu Anye, Ririna Renee, and Kerushea Shobi!" Each girl entered the throne room in a horizontal line, separating equally on each side of the throne. They looked just like they used to, shocking Normani to her core. Except they were wearing brass armor, with metal skirts, and tall, metal boots- which was tipped with different colored gems. Emira with rose quartz, Chikyuu with amazonite, Ririna with yellow tourmaline, Kerushea with rubies. The stones lined their armor, their circlets, and were set largely on the tops of their staffs. Each wore white-gold cuffs, suppressing their abilities. Each wore a clearly practiced serious expression. Normani didn't get to open her mouth before the male spoke again. "Introducing the Royal Guard Vice Captain, Kirameki Hoseki!" Normani frowned, just as Kirameki strode forward, in her own skirt-armor, instead it was a pearly color. Her staff was the same color with a turquoise stone set in it, making a heavy sound as it lightly hit the ground. She stood to the left of the throne, closer than to the rest. She saw Normani and smirked lightly. The male spoke again, giving dramatic pause. "Introducing, the honorable Royal Guard Captain, Kuroe Kai!" The final shock factor. Kuroe entered the room, her own armor in bright silver, covered in sapphires. She stood at the right of the throne. Normani thought it was finally done, until he opened his mouth again- only to be interrupted. "That's enough." The guard paused, glancing behind him. Even the girls lost their composure, thrilled to finally be seeing the king. To be the very first to see the king. It took a few moments for Normani to place him, utterly confused for a moment. Then she gasped and launched herself into Aero's arms.
