Gah- update time. As per usual, updating on the amount of horses one would normally work in a day- and also an irl update too. Arrows / Space / Click 1. First, I drove over to the round pen on the other side of the property where Princess was getting used to the new environment. We moved her in yesterday, and her initial anxiety seems to be gone. 2. She came running over when she saw me. 3. I put her halter on. 4. I led her out and over to the side of the fence. 5. I tied her up and grabbed my new grooming set, and I brushed her down. 6. I tacked her up in her new cake themed set then (including the party hat, because it's so adorable). 7. I mounted up. 8. We decided to take advantage of the late summer blooms, and our newest trail was gorgeous. Princess did amazing for her first ride at her new home. <3 9. I took her back to the pen and put her away for the afternoon. She cantered around for a bit, then settled down. 10. It was then late afternoon, so after a quick lunch break I went out to the outdoor arena, where I had left Savannah that morning to get her used to another new setting, thinking hopefully she'd be chill enough to ride in a few hours. 11. She was doing great, and she trotted over when I came in. 12. I tacked up and mounted. 13. We warmed up at a WTC. 14. I set up some poles and cones for a little bit of a challenge. 15. Savannah trotted them nicely and didn't knock them. 16. The cones helped her understand where she was going, and she still didn't knock the poles as she moved. 17. We cooled off bareback. 18. I then went into the small barn, where Astra lives part time with Snowburst and Daisy. It was getting quite late by the time I got around to Astra, but I've had her for a really long time and she and I have worked the most together out of all my horses. 19. I took her out, and because she and I know each other so well, she's the only horse I'd trust on a nighttime run, especially bareback and bitless. We went through some of the pastures and around the edges of the property, seeing as the forest isn't exactly safe for nighttime rides, although if you can get through the 10 minutes of forest, you get to see the gorgeous beach! We didn't go that far though. She did great <3 20. Took Astra home, where she happily went back into her stall. I left her there to cool off for a half an hour before moving her back to the big barn with safe, comfortable stalls and AC / heating. Anyway, that's all for today with my horses. IRL, school is starting Monday, my birthday is Wednesday, I'm playing Cards Against Humanity (heehee) with my besties on Saturday to celebrate, and the Cross Country season starts super soon (as well as Lacrosse preseason practice), so I've been running a lot. I'm also super unmotivated to draw, and I have 2 orders left. I've had all week to do them and really really really don't want to, so I need to get my act together tomorrow. Also guys- Winter's coming back on Saturday! AAAAH I CAN'T WAIT! But anyway, IRL, my neighbors dog (who everyone says likes me more than her (its true, i walk him and feed him and let him sleep in my bed lol)) is staying with us for 10 days starting tomorrow, and once he leaves, my mom and I are going to go get this feral cat that's been living around the goats (20 min away or so). We're going to catch him and take him to the vet then take him home, and I rly can't wait! After he settles in we're getting a kitten too. <3 I'll share pictures when he comes home :3 Anywho, that's all for today, love you all sm.
