today had been such a rough day. y/n closed her eyes, wishing that they could get away from here. anywhere but here. they squeezed their eyes shut tighter and wished with all their heart. “y/n, wake up.” soobin stood over them, his signature bunny smile on his lips. y/n sat up, blinking. they were on a gorgeous beach, a cotton candy pink sky over their head. the other four txt members were in various places across the beach. yeonjun and beomgyu were splashing around, knee deep in the ocean. taehyun was sitting on the sand and huening kai was attempting to bury him. soobin was still standing over y/n, waiting patiently to see what they wanted to do. “y/n!” huening kai waved them over and y/n hesitantly began to walk. “there’s sand in my mouth!” taehyun spat as huening kai giggled off to the side. he’d been shoveling sand all over taehyun, still trying to bury him. “y/n! did you find any shells?” huening kai had asked them to find shells and pieces of sea glass to decorate taehyun into a mermaid after they buried him. y/n held out shells and huening kai, forgetting taehyun was right in front of him and half buried in the sand, stepped on him as he ran to get a closer look. taehyun let out a pained wheeze as huening kai’s foot stepped on his stomach. soobin was next to taehyun instantly as huening kai turned, alarmed at the noise. “hyungie! im so sorry!” huening kai said instantly. taehyun waved his hand, letting them all know he was okay. y/n stifled a small smile at the cute chaoticness of the whole interaction. y/n turned to look at the ocean and saw beomgyu smiling at them. “y/n!! come join us!” yeonjun called. a spray of water hit beomgyu square in the face and he spluttered, trying to rub his eyes and spit the water out at the same time. yeonjun, who had made the hit, looked extremely proud of himself. and just a little worried for the younger member. y/n stood ankle deep in the water watching the two boys play. beomgyu, who’d given up on rubbing his eyes, dived underwater and grabbed yeonjun’s legs out from under him and the two disappeared under the waves. y/n started forward, worried about the two but soobin grabbed their arm. “don‘t worry, they’ll come up for air soon.” almost as soon as soobin finished talking, beomgyu and yeonjun emerged, gasping for air. yeonjun flipped his hair away from his face and beomgyu jokingly lunged for him making yeonjun scream something about his hair and water not mixing. soobin and y/n watched them quietly, the screams mixing with the sound of crashing waves. in a few minutes, all the members flopped on the sand, looking tired but still happy. “how was your day today?” soobin asked. “so fun, i tackled yeonjun-hyung so many times.” beomgyu grinned. yeonjun scoffed. “yeah, and i splashed you more.” yeonjun cringed. “okay, that sounded pathetic.” “i was a mermaid.” taehyun said seriously. huening kai beamed. “and i made a mermaid! or…merman. we have photos too! taehyun hyung looked so pretty!” huening kai said happily. “my day was great too, im happy you all had fun.” as soobin finished talking, all eyes turned to y/n. “how was your day, y/n?” “i- it wasn’t the best.” y/n whispered. they took a deep breath and everything came pouring out. all the things that went wrong and how the day seemed to progressively get worse. they didn’t even realise they were crying until huening kai reached forward and pulled them into a hug. “oh y/nnie, that’s not good.” soobin said. “im sorry you had to go through that.” yeonjun whispered. “did we make your day better?” beomgyu asked hopefully. taehyun turned a glare onto the older man and y/n sniffle-laughed. “yeah, you guys did. thank you.” —————————————————————————- i genuinely had a bad day today so…and txt is actually my comfort group cause they were the first group i ever stanned. their voices almost always calm me down and make me feel better - harper
