One of the biggest early internet memes, the Dancing Baby was the unintentional result of a plugin demo for 3D Studio Max that could animate two-legged creatures. Created by applying the plugin's Cha-Cha dance animation to the 3D model of a baby, the resulting animation was first discarded for being too "disturbing." The animation found a second life when it was recreated from the same files and posted as a GIF to a CompuServe forum. It found its way into company-wide emails and exploded in popularity after being set to the song "Hooked on a Feeling". It became endlessly remixed, and even appeared as an hallucination on the show Ally McBeal.
