hi, welcome to my newest book. it's dedicated to my best friend who sadly does not have a scratch account. I cannot tell you her name, but once this is finished, she will do the novel's book cover! ----------------------------- prologue : the woman Three men sat in the tavern; a king, a knight, and a wizard. Each was there for a different reason. But they all came for the same person. None of them knew each other, but they all understood who the others were there for. The three men all sat at a table in the back of the tavern, sipping ale and talking slowly. “How is life in the woods?” Asked the king to the wizard. “Quite pleasant.” The wizard replied. “I often meet the most wonderful of people!” The knight smiled. “I have always enjoyed people like you,” he said, “people who still find excitement even in the smallest of things.” The wizard leaned back, chuckling. “Sometimes you’ve gotta live life the way the gods intended, not the way you want to.” He explained. “Funny how someone half my age is giving me life advice.” The knight said with a faint smile. The king doubled over in laughter. “It’s true,” he said, “I don’t think I’ve ever met someone your age with as much knowledge as you have.” The wizard smirked. “Glad to hear that,” he said, then proceeded to call the barmaid over. The tired woman walked over and placed a hand on her hip. “You gentlemen care for another drink?” She asked, not minding that she was in the presence of people much more important than her. “No thank you, I was wondering if you know of a woman named Glenn?” said the king. “Ah, yes, The Dark Witch Glenn, she comes here often. Why do you ask?” “We were told to meet her here.” The barmaid rolled her eyes and said, “You could’ve just asked to see her.” “Excuse me, what do you mean we could have just asked?” the knight questioned. “When her father died she inherited this place because she was—and is— unwed and she has no siblings and or male relatives.” “Glenn is the owner?” the wizard asked slowly. “Correct.” replied the barmaid, “I’ll go fetch her.” The three men waited in silence for a few minutes before a gorgeous young woman with silky black hair and midnight blue eyes strolled up to them. She smiled softly. “Hello,” said the woman, “I’m Glenn. What service of mine do you all require?” “I need help taking control back from my kingdom.” said the king. “I need help working my way up to the highest rank.” said the knight. “I need help becoming more powerful.” said the wizard. Glenn clicked her tongue. “I can do half of that.” “What do you mean by that?” asked the king. Glenn avoided the question. “All I need from you three is a drop of bl0od from each of you. On the next full moon. your wishes will be granted.” said Glenn. The men all nodded and held out their hands. Using a butcher's kn1fe she cut their palms and pulled three rags out of her pocket. She gently pressed them against the cuts and they quickly absorbed the blo0d. “Extra bl0od, just incense.” she told the wizard when he looked slightly scared. “Okay…” he said with a nod. Once she finished soaking the bl0od, she gently folded the rags. “Pleasure doing business with you three. Now you best get going before the beast gets you.” With that she left. ------------------------------- if you'd like to be on the ping list, just ask.
