Just like the previous morning, I wake up and the cat is nowhere to be found. I exit my room and find that there are slash marks on the wall beside my door.They’re deep and large.I walk downstairs and see Luna, who is once again asleep at the reception desk.Something silver catches my eye; it’s her black choker with the silver crescent moon pendant.My eyes widen.I saw that pendant last night.On a cat.I try to rationalize.Maybe she got a matching collar for the cat?I snap out of my reverie when she stirs and wakes up. “Good morning..”She mumbles sleepily. “Another rough night?”I ask.She nods. “How about I make some breakfast?”She says, and she walks out from behind the desk and over to the kitchen.Her walk is unusual though, and it seems like she’s… Limping. Holy cow. I wasn’t just imagining it, I was sure of my theory. Luna didn’t have a cat. Luna WAS the cat. Have I gone crazy?Maybe this place was just messing with my head. I follow her to the kitchen and decide to face this head on. “You’re limping.”I say. “Oh…I uh, dropped a bottle of shampoo on my foot.” She’s lying to me, I can feel it. “And it made you limp?” “It was brand new.”She says. “Maybe I should look at it.”I say.I wasn’t a doctor, but I did know basic health and first aid.What I really wanted to know was if she had a bite mark or not. “No it’s…I’m fine.”She replies. I sigh. “I saw your cat again last night.”I say. “I know.”She replies before covering her mouth. “What do you mean you ‘know’?How could you possibly know that?”I’ve dropped the innocent questioning and gone full interrogation mode on her. “It—I woke up in the middle of the night and it wasn’t in my room so I assumed it was in yours…” She says. “Luna,”I say softly. “What’s going on?” She gazes at me with sadness in her eyes. “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”She said. ———————— Hey guys! @Seastar-the-hybrid here!This is my first scary story/first person experience story.
