You can use that money to buy speed upgrades - If you encounter an enemy, click them or press spacebar to deal damage to them and destroy them. - You get EXP from defeating enemies. When gaining enough EXP you level up which gives more damage and sometimes unlocks new spells. The spells have hotkeys which are the numbers above them. - Some enemies have a chance to drop an item. If you get one you can click on the item icon in the top right boxes Every enemy has a 1% (1/100) chance to be a shiny which triples (doubles if its a boss) health it also makes the enemy drop more EXP and a guaranteed item.
