Chapter 31 Birthday? I groaned loudly. "Avereey! Stoppit!" My words slurred together I was so tired. Avery kept shaking me saying she had a surprise. "Whasurprisecouldyuhavthatisssssoooooimportantante on a, on a Sundaymorniiiing??" I questioned. "I could not comprehend what you just said! GET UP!!" Avery shouted in my ear. "NOOOOOOOoooooo," I groaned. "Fine then, I guess the food'll spoil," Avery said. This got my attention, "What kind of food?" "The best kind, Athena got pizza," Avery said. "PIZZA!" I yelled, getting up quickly, too quickly. I fell down the ladder and landed on the floor. "You good?" Avery laughed, "YER!! THERE'S PIZZAA!!" I exclaimed. "Is she coming?" Charolette asked, peeking in the room. "Wait, what's going on?" I asked. "Did you forget? How could you forget your own, nevermind," Avery said. "My Own What? Tell ME!!!!" I exclaimed. "You'll have to see for yourself," Avery said. I groaned, "Fine!" I got dressed and then came out. “Nope, go back and get into something nicer,” Avery said. “What?!” I exclaimed, “You told me to get dressed, I’m dressed!” “Actually, I didn’t, but still, get into something nicer,” Avery said. I sighed and got into my dress robes. “Better?” I asked. “Much, now come on! You’ve been keeping me waiting!” Avery said. “But You!” I exclaimed. “No buts, no coconuts, and off we go!” Avery said. I followed her out to the halls and she put a blindfold on me after a little bit. She guided me, then let go of my hand. “Avery? Where did you go?” I asked. “Chill out, I’m taking you now!” A deep voice said. “Athena, is that you?” I questioned. “No, what are you talking about? I don’t know any Athena,” the voice said coughing back laughter. “Where did you find laughing gas?” I asked, sarcastically. Eventually, I heard a knock in a pattern in front of me and then a door open. I was led forward and the door was shut. Athena then let go of my hand. Nothing happened for a little bit. “Hello?” I asked the silence. “TAKE OFF YOUR BLINDFOLD ALREADY!!” Someone, I believe Charolette, shouted. I took off my blindfold. A bunch of my friends were in front of me and shouted, “Surprise!” I smiled confusedly, “What’s going on?” “Wait, do you not remember which day it is?” Lily asked. “No-” I said, then I looked up and saw a banner that said Happy Birthday Adalaide! “WAIT! IT’S MY BIRTHDAY?!” I exclaimed. They all laughed. “HOW DID I NOT KNOW IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY?!” I exclaimed. “Because you’re so used to being 13 that you forgot to turn 14,” Athena said. “That doesn’t even make any sense, wait, I’m 14 now, that’s weird…” I said. “Why?” Avery asked. “Because that’s the age I would be when going into high school if I still went to Muggle school,” I said. “Huh,” Avery said. “You guys really didn’t have to do this for me…” I trailed off. “You’re right, we didn’t, but it’s too late now!” Athena said. “So, what room are we in?” I asked. “We are in one of the teacher’s classrooms, who said we had permission to use it as long as we cleaned up afterwards,” Peter said. “Oh! Hi Peter!” I said. He flushed a bit, then smiled, “Hi Adalaide.” “Well, enjoy the party!” Arina said.
