!!! WARNING !!! (Story in whole) contains some violence and a little r0mance, so I'd say 10+ EDIT: Nothing in this chapter though! It's fine for all ages! In fact, the whole thing probably is since I'm not planning on continuing and there are only two chapters -_- but we'll see. ------------------------------- ∆ ----------------------------- EDIT: Know that this is slightly outdated/inaccurate (not the part about the AU's role swap though) ABOUT: Heya there! Sooo this fanfic is a TotK AU where Link and Zelda basically (after the prologue) switch roles (like Zelda is the adventurer and Link is the- oh wait oops right spoilers uhh please only read this story if you finished TotK!). Sorry if it's a bit boring but this is the first time I've written a full out story with PLOT and stuff x_x (I'm usually very spontaneous and impulsive) but still sorry. I think I'll be writing this for a while (I hope anyway, I can be a bit fickle). I've been wanting to try writing something like this for a long time and well, I finally worked up the courage to try actually doing it (and sharing it)! This story also might fluctuate between third person and first person POV because I like writing in both (and again, I did say I'm kinda fickle). Also note that for some chapters it might be Link or Zelda's POV for the entire thing, or might switch between them constantly. Sorry if it's a little confusing :'b. And btw you should probably play TLoZ: TotK first if you already haven't, because there are certain things I'll expect you to know, like what a shrine is or what Link and Zelda are doing underground. Oh and did I mention spoilers??? Anyways, the story begins now! ------------------------------- ∆ ----------------------------- POV: Zelda Nervously I approach the Temple of Time's front gates. Rauru... the oldest king of Hyrule... said Link would be here... and I was desperate to see him again. Rauru was a strange fellow, really, being a Zonai and all along with the fact that the... arm... came from him. I believed him from the moment we met, I just felt it in my gut that he was telling the truth. I'm not sure why, though. Anyway, it had been quite a bit since I first woke up on that grassy stretch of what Rauru had called the Great Sky Island. He had talked a bit, gave me some instructions, and left me to it. After a moment of hesitation, I reach out my hand to the glowing symbol in front of the door. I had learned by now that these strange projections sort of serve as a lock, and that only Rauru's arm is able to disable them. As I touch it, to my surprise, it suddenly turns red and blocks the door with glowing red energy. I flinch, startled, and back a step away. Suddenly, startling me again, Rauru appears beside me. "Hmm, how strange," he says, not noticing how I had almost fallen over. "You should have been able to open it." I look at him expectantly. "Perhaps my arm isn't strong enough anymore. Or perhaps it needs to be re-energized-- several thousand years is a long time to be left unused after all!" "I know what you should do," he says suddenly. "Seek out the three shrines scattered across this island-- they are filled with sacred light that will surely restore my arm's power. Once you have done that, well, we'll see if it works." Then he faded away as suddenly as he had come. Shrines? Like, shrines as in the kind of shrines Link said he had completed when I was holding Calamity Ganon at bay? The kind I had been trying to get inside a hundred years ago, oblivious to how complicated the technology had been? I stare at the place Rauru had just been floating and sigh.
