Poem I wrote about writing on 11/14/24: Writing is hard to describe. It feels as if a million ideas are clamoring like seeds to plant themselves, but you reach out to snag one but they are so close yet so far, mental fingers only grazing their surfaces. Sometimes fingers just rest, dormant on the keys, or freeze, pencil poised and ready to write, but with nothing to write. And sometimes something just clicks and fingers can barely keep up with the mind, fumbling as they fly and the pencil dances, twirling and looping in harmony— in graceful swirls and skates, words smoothly materializing hand’s side getting smeared with sparkling gray. And when finished, an array of words laid out so neatly is the reward; wonder how they got there.
