Raise yon brightness or enter fullscreen, for my photo quality is bad! I'm trying a new format of putting artworks together in one slide every so often just to save costumes. Where did we last leave off? February? (Apologies this has been sitting in my files for a hot minute) 1. An attempt at drawing a .5 of Hunter (oc). (my only references were my sister's because for some reason its really hard to find .5s on the internet) 2. Left - doodle of Vincent. Right - Eugene (both ocs) 3. My two characters named Jack. On the right is Jack who I frequently draw and has been around longer. He's a punky little coding whiz who is overdramatic and likes ice cream. On the left is Jack Daniels from a story I wrote in SWC, "Tales of Inspector Jack Daniels and Captain Catfish May" about a marine inspector (Daniels) who gets stuck on a pirate ship. 4. (poor quality sorry D:) Aforementioned Jack (child) being dramatic (wow) sitting on a tailgate with a bottle of Fanta and lyrics to Stick Season by Noah Kahan hovering over his head. 5. Doodles of Cessnas and other planes at the local flight school 6. View from the airport window 7. Keefe Sencen. I haven't drawn kotlc related things in a while, but I think I'd like to redraw some of my old art now that I have more skill. I need to reread first though lolol 8. Vincent has fallen and cannot get up :0 9. Angry fairy Vincent, happy fairy Unnamed Tree Spirit No. 1 (oc, and that's legitimately been her name for 2 years now), and fire Elmo Hunter 10. Vincent doesn't like the ocean. At all. 11. Semi-realistic Edwardian lady doodle. I rather like how the period elements turned out, but I am no good at coloring 12. Grayson (oc) being a very angry English footballer. One of my favorite scenarios to imagine with my characters is them debating on soccer vs. football. Everyone is so rooted in their country's prefered name that it is a very dangerous subject to bring up 13. ... Lisa (oc). She can be very silly when she doesn't want to be grumpy 14. (Lisa + West) PLEASE its the perfect song for, like, a swing music video. I need this in my life. 15. Trying to come up with a pfp. Top left - the previously mentioned Captain Catfish May from 2. Top right - Lisa and a rainy day in Paris. Bottom left - me in my Kevin Cornell style intimidation. Bottom right - My oc named ... New Guy ,:D. Refers to Amber Run's song "Amen" which is very him. 16. New Guy in a piece of artwork inspired by Impressionism and wondering about what it would feel like to lose your memory to dementia. That is something this reluctant immortal would most certainly not want. 17. Him again. Something about using colors and focusing on their value and emotion rather than cohereance is very freeing. I highly recommend :D 18. New Guy aGaIn! (but younger! :000) The anatomy is a little wonky but that's okay. Playing with color was my primary goal. 19. He is becoming the main character of this art dump (guys I went through a tiny Impressionism phase with solely him in case you couldn't tell) If you're curious about the colors, I used a color palette titled "Home Sweet Home" that I downloaded a long time ago when Procreate released this coloring pages thing on their website once. That was probably back in Ye Olde 2020. 20. Guess who? .o. (very young version) 21. Anyways. West (oc) art, inspired by Ferris Bueller's Day Off. He is very into dance. Also, I think that was a very successful jacket, which is great because jackets always confused me when I was younger so I have upgraded in my skills at some indeterminate time. 22. Unnamed Tree Spirit No. 1 being bullied by Vincent. 23. Contemplative little Vincent with a cuppa 24 - 25. I feel like 24 explains 25. I don't really play the Sims ever (only on roadtrips), but when I do, I'll draw them sometimes, especially my little emo redhead Brecken. (he's so silly) 26. Redrawing an 1897 stereograph titled "The New Woman. -- Wash Day" from the Library of Congress. I just think this one is so sassy teehee. Overall, I think I did well, even if the posing is a little off. 27. Guy Little Theatrical Photograph c. 1850s (?) from the Victoria and Albert redraw. I like the stylization but the anatomy a little wonky 28. Oc Lucien, who is basically an occasional human firefly and works as a train engineer with his grandfather. (who I have not been brave enough to draw because in my head his beard is the equivalent of the redheaded train engineer's in the Polar Express and a beard that epic deserves justice which I cannae provide) 29. Silly sayings by Hunter, West, Lisa, and Unnamed Tree Spirit No. 1 30. Anne Shirley! 31. Left - Wee West and his parents. His mother did ballet, which is how he got interested into dance. Digital - his father, specifically. Top right - Vincent getting attacked by affection I dunno 32. Leaving of Liverpool inspired art + lyrics 33. Unnamed Tree Spirit No. 1 with lyrics from The Wisp Sings by Winter Aid 34. Lisa. I'm very pleased with her body language and expression
35 - 36. CoUgH doodle vs finished art. (the lighting makes it look different, but its the same page, I sWEAR) Vincent is struggling :) (I love this) 37. Oh yeah, my running joke is that Vincent = Lord Farquaad (spelt wrong, every time) Its basically because of the hair, and the overall silliness of the comparison. meme redraw is me by the way 38. Remember how I said he doesn't like the ocean? 39. Flaming e̶l̶m̶o̶ Hunter (these meme redraws are really highlighting my wacky sense of proportions) 40. Unnamed Tree Spirit No. 1 is not having a good day out on the town. There isn't enough nature. 41 - 45. Short storyboard of New Guy's life with lyrics from Wait For It (Hamilton). The first panel is in the present for exposition and everyhing else is a ~dramatic~ flashback. Fullscreen recommended because Scratch cronchifies everything 46. Redraw of a photo from the Library of Congress (1910). Overall, I like it! (except her right hand [hand pictured on right]. That was hard) 47. Redraw of a photo from the Victora and Albert (c. 1939-42) Trying to get better at faces 48. Hunter is me on a daily basis 49. Drawing with marker! I was first trying to figure out how to color (Vincents on right) then I came up with a new doodle technique (squiggle with marker first, then draw with pen). It's actually quite a rewarding way to work 50. More marker and pen doodles. Various West and Lisas on the right. 51. Various redraws. I'm starting to get the hang of stylizing them. Drawing from reference has actually been quite fun, especially from period photos :0 52. The Astaire siblings! Quite pleased with this. Adele could be more exaggerated, but whatever, Fred turned out well. 53. Painted Lisa pfp attempt 54. Drawings of various articles of clothing from Sears and Macy's catalogs, c. 1912 and 1922, if I remember correctly. 55. Jack doodles. Some of my favorites are on the right. 56. Trying out lineless art and different layer filters. 57. Practicing coats from reference (couldn't find the photo, but it was from the Library of Congress), another photo from 1943, also Lisa doodles 58 - 60. West! Trying to play around with his different stylistic inspirations with a bonus of exhuberent poses lol. 61. Lisa costuming. I'm trying to achieve that perfect textured-lineless style, and I think this gets me closer! 62. Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre! I love him -- he's so down to earth. (Jane Eyre is just such a good book :000 ) 63. Your treat for getting through this whole thing! A page of miscellaneous doodles, including but not limited to Hunter as a crab, Lisa eating cereal at 3:00 AM, and a singular Milo Thatch. But don't worry, more Milos are to come. The End! :) Character credits: Me, Shannon Messenger, L.M. Montgomery, Dreamworks, Charlotte Brontë, and Disney
