A COMPLETED CHARACTER REFERENCE OF MY BEAUTIFUL OC, CECIL DeMONTE. The e at the end is silent. So it’s pronounced “Duh-mont”. Scratch butchered the quality per usual. Fullscreening might help a bit. Yo I’m actually proud of this. I think the lighting is decent in the two bust drawings. Yes, I used a ton of references. But seriously there’s a clear source of light and the shadows bro. Cel shading. I love cel shading. THE CLOTHING FOLDS TOO ASDFGHJKLAKDKALDKA. Yyyeah I don’t use references for clothing folds which probably isn’t great. I don’t really understand fabric and stuff so I’m figuring it out as I go. So I chose to keep the fullbody base colored because 1) I’m lazy 2) I like it that way. The bust drawings were supposed to just be lineart…then I said “screw it”, colored, and shaded the whole thing. You may have seen the sketch I posted before this project. I also got a cool new watermark design :D Anyway a little info on the character: Cecil is the younger brother of Vivienne DeMonte. He is younger than her by a year, and shorter than her by an inch which he is extremely bitter about. He runs the circus alongside her. He likes to steal jackets and sweaters, particularly his friend Sebastian’s. The orange-red sweater he’s wearing is indeed stolen from Seb. Sebastian is annoyed by this. He has a coffee issue and draws at unholy hours. Vivienne often has to steal his sketchbook and hide it somewhere around the apartment. This usually ends in Cecil staying up even later, looking for the sketchbook. He’s sleep deprived, obviously. He’s rocking the black turtleneck and teal windbreaker tho. Look, fabulous eyeliner is mandatory for all my ocs. He also has ✨magic✨ like his sister. But it’s kind of just…sparkles…at the moment. The magic doesn’t do anything except help with the “special effects” in the circus. Think fancy glitter. His mother was also born in France so he and his sister can speak French somewhat fluently.
