This game (should) help with making memorizing hiragana more fun Instructions: ● click on a kana to activate/deactivate it. If it is active means that it will spawn in the game ● don't touch the player to the enemy ● type the pronunciation of a kana and then move into range of that kana to "kill it" ● killing the yellow coins will give you points I recommend learning it slowly a row at a time たのしんでね! a little more about the japanese writing system: ● a small ya, yu, or yo can be used yo make combination sounds ex. ぎゃ -> gya, ちょ-> cho, じゃ -> ja ● a small tsu can be used to add a pause (technicall a glottal stop) and is represented with double letters ex. かった -> katta, さっか -> sakka ● besides hiragana (the letters used here), there is also katakana that is just a different character for each hiragana and is mostly used for loan words ex. トイレ = といれ = toire = toilet ネズミ = ねずみ = nezumi = mouse ドーナツ = どーなつ = donatsu = donut note that a ー is used to make a vowel pronounced longer. Also, some words in japanese are writen in katakana in order to distinguish it hiragana (like some animals like the mouse in the example) ● japanese also used kanji, which are chinese characters that contain a meaning. ex. 楽しい=たのしい=tanoshii=fun 美味しい=おいしい=oishii=delicious 美 carries the meaning of beautiful, and 味 carries the meaning of flavor Since the reading of a kanji can change depending on which word it is in, I recommend not worrying about learning them all at once, but rather study them when you come across them in the context of a word ●Japanese has its own punctuations. instead of "hello" they use 「hello」, and instead of a comma they use 、and instead of a period, they use 。 ● all of this is combined when writing a Japanese sentence, so for example 「ピザが美味しい。」 has katakana (ピザ=ぴざ=pizza), hiragana (が, しい), and kanji (美味しい=おいしい=delicious), and this combined to make the sentence "pizza is delicious."
