This poem is written in a lullaby-like format, with the italicized font representing the mother's voice and the regular font representing the child (see below). I wrote this poem as an exchange between a mother and her child amid war. They lack enough food and supplies, and the child realizes they face d3ath. However, the mother draws their attention away from the grim reality and to a better, brighter world--which eventually the child reaches in d3ath. The last paragraph is the realization of the mother that she has lost her child. She finishes the lullaby, singing that she will join her child soon. I got really emotional writing this lol
