Welcome to the first Ghost Owl show! I'll *try* to do these monthly or at least bi-monthly (no promises though). I'm likely to add more classes if this goes well, but I want to get a feel for how many people enter and how much work it ends up being. The following is a bit of a text wall, but it's important information, so please read it all before entering <3 RULES - Only enter horses you own. If you are in the middle of some sort of ownership dispute please don't enter that horse to avoid arguments - Entered horses in riding categories must have a complete set of tack, which includes: bridle (with or without a bit), reins, saddle pad, saddle, girth, and rider. Boots, martingales, breastcollars etc can be entered and may improve your score (see scoring) but they are not needed to enter. You can use any discipline of tack (which will affect your score), but only English tack (this show only includes English disciplines for now) will be accepted. For non-riding categories (conformation categories) a halter and standing rider is all you need. - Be mature if you don't win - You can enter one horse per category and unlimited horses across the categories. - Only purebreds can be entered in conformation classes - This will end when I have five competitors per category or on September 20th, whichever comes sooner. Prizes will only be awarded if the category has at least 4 entries for fairness and my sanity CATEGORIES Showjumping - current entries (7): @retro-mushroom and Bourbon, @_-StormRider13-_ and Zelda, @---echoiinq--- and Amber, @Dontay13 and Rainer, @Skyradragonologist and Soot, @CloudyEcho and Beau, @mangosaresoyummy and Moon Dressage - current entries (3): @retro-mushroom and Seagull, and Maverick, and Dune Bunny Cross country - current entries (5): and Dreamy, and Lilly, and Océane, and Pinecone, and Wen SCORING - RIDING CATEGORIES All scoring is calculated by me. I am an irl horse trainer, horse owner, and rider and have a lot of random knowledge (horse conformation judging, breed standards, registries, color genetics etc) so I'm probably qualifiedish :D Each category is scored out of 100, and point distribution is as follows: Training - 50 points: I will look at the training updates you link in your entry. You earn 5 points per update for up to 7 updates. The remaining 15 points will be based on the quality of training. Only updates related to the discipline (or for foundation work for said discipline, e.g. ground poles or ground driving) count. Tack - 25 points: This is based off of the tack you use and its relevance to the discipline, as well as the fit and quality. Ideal tack: Showjumping: jumping saddle, jumping saddle pad, figure 8 bridle, any girth, any boots, running martingale Dressage: dressage saddle, dressage saddle pad, bridle with flash, any girth, no boots (polo wraps won't detract, brushing boots or other kinds will), no martingale Cross country: Cross country or eventing saddle, XC or eventing saddle pad, figure 8 bridle, any girth, any boots, running martingale Breed - 15 points: This is judged by your horses breeds aptitude to the category. Warmbloods are ideal, especially Irish Sport Horses and Dutch Warmbloods. Less ideal breeds are drafts, Gypsy Vanners, and stock breeds (QH, Appaloosas etc). Crosses are welcome, and will be judged based on whatever makes up the cross. RNG - 10 points: I will use a random number generator to decide this. It represents the unknown at a show (your horse could be nervous, spook, come up lame etc) and can be 0-10 points. For every show your horse has been to, the lower limit increases by one. For example if your horse has been to 1 show, the range is 1-10; if the horse has been to 4, the range is 4-10. SCORING - CONFORMATION CATEGORIES: 90 points - conformation to the breed standard as written on the breed registry's official website. 10 points - RNG, as described above. ENTERING Wow, that was a lot of writing! Thanks for sticking with me lol. Here's how you enter: 1. Remix 2. Fill out the form inside, once per horse you're entering (remember to obey entry limits!) (horse info = horse name, age, gender, and breed) 3. Once you've posted it, I will confirm and transact the 2 HS entry fee per horse.
PRIZES (per category): 1st - Champion ribbon, 3 custom horses (hence the entry fee :')), and 2 free breedings w/ a horse on @mossii_horses whose status is "yes" or "maybe" 2nd - 2nd place ribbon, 2 custom horses, and 1 free breeding w/ a horse on @mossii_horses whose status is "yes" or "maybe" 3rd - 3rd place ribbon and 1 custom horse I'm really just making a lot of work for myself aren't I this is why art requests are going to be closed for a bit lmao horses on the cover are Lemoncello by @retro-mushroom and Caspian by @dreqmiing4u.
