Flash blinked. "Oh- Hi, da-" Static stopped him. "Did you do *anything*?" he snarled. Flash glanced to the mud that coated his paws and nodded slowly. "Yeah.. I only stopped for a break a minute or so ago.." Static started to laugh. "Oh, a break? That's cute." He paused, that taunting smile coming over him. "Do you think *I* get breaks?" Flash hesitated. "Uhm... n...no?" Flash knew that was a lie. All Static did was take breaks. His whole life was one big break. "So then *why* are you *taking one*?" Static snapped. Flash paused. "because.. you didn't..tell me not too?" he stammered. Then, Static got this look on his face. His eyes got wide, and he looked like he genuinely hated Flash. He looked like he wanted to get rid of him. For what reason, Flash couldn't say. Static's face was hard, and cold, and full of anger. "I just don't think you understand- YOU don't know more then ME. You have no RIGHT to correct me like that! Do you not trust me? Clearly not." Static went on, his voice getting louder as he spoke, and seemingly more frantic. But Flash still didn't know what he did. Flash *tried* to object, just to de-escalate the situation. "I- I never sai-" Static cut him off. "WHY DOES NOBODY EVER LISTEN TO ME?! Really, I think I was very CLEAR! I said NO BREAKS!!" Flash tensed, every tiny strand of fur on his body standing straight. He started to feel as if he couldn't even breathe. Static went on screaming, for maybe fifteen minutes Flash just sat there and listened, fighting back tears. What had he done? The whole thing.. was ridiculous. Static was acting like a toddler, throwing a tantrum, not even knowing why they were doing it. Flash slowly made up his mind, as he sat there- shaking, staring dumbly at the storm in front of him, that something else must've upset Static, and this was his way of letting his anger out. But Flash felt his own anger burning up inside. He could feel himself getting hot with that sickening fear, and anger all mixed up together. He felt his paws start to twist, and his whole body go numb with shaking. His tail started twitching back and forth, and all he could see was red. He tried to ignore it, he really did, but eventually it just got to be too much. And, without any reasoning, or even realizing he did it... Flash screamed back. What happened next was hazy, and it took a few moments for Flash to realize what he'd done. He didn't know what he'd said, or that he'd even said anything at all, but Static's expression told him everything he needed to know. However angry, and full of hatred Flash might've thought Static was before, this was 1,000 times worse. Static looked crazy, like he might jump out and kill Flash at any second. His head snapped in Flash's direction, and he just.. stared. The last thing Flash remembered was Static walking towards him. Then he finally woke up.
