Click the green flag to start the game. (Three purple buttons with 2P, 3P and 4P on it will appear.) For a two-player game, click the purple button with 2P on it. For a three-player game, click the purple button with 3P on it. For a four-player game, click the purple button with 4P on it. After clicking the purple button, the game will randomly decide a player to start the first round. The game will then deal 5 cards to each player. On your turn, click the green Start button (the green button with a right-pointing triangle) to see your cards. You can click on one of your cards to play it to the discard pile if it has the same color, number or symbol as the top card of the discard pile. If you cannot play a card on your turn or if you choose not to, click the deck on the left of the discard pile to draw one. You cannot play that card on the same turn you drew it regardless of whether it is playable or not. After you play a card or draw, the next player in the current order of play takes their turn. Pass the device to the next player to let them take their turn. If you have 2 cards left and are about to play one, you must click the yellow Last Card button (the yellow button with the number 1 on the card) before playing it. (The words "LAST CARD" will appear on the right side of the screen where the Last Card button was) If you forget to click the Last Card button, the game will automatically draw 2 penalty cards for that player, so be careful! If you play your last card, then you win the round and you'll score points for your opponents' remaining cards.
In the first round, the starting player is decided randomly, but in the second round and onwards, the winner of the round directly before the current round will be the new starting player. When the top card flipped to start the round isn't a number card, the game will flip another card to the discard pile until a number card is flipped. When you play a card with a special symbol on it, its effects will be activated as follows: Skip (shown as a circle with a diagonal line in it on the card): Forces the next player to lose their turn and the player after them goes next. In a two-player game, the player who played it gets to play again. Reverse (shown as a pair of arrows pointing in opposite directions on the card): Changes the direction of play from clockwise to counterclockwise and vice versa. (The arrow on the right of the discard pile will flip.) In a two-player game, it has the same effects of a Skip card, allowing the player who played it to play again. Draw 2 (shown as a +2 on the card's upper left and lower right corners with 2 colored cards on the center): Forces the next player to draw 2 cards and lose their turn unless they can play another Draw 2 card regardless of color. If they do, then the player after them is forced to draw 4 cards unless they can play a third Draw 2 card forcing the player after them to draw 6 unless they can play the fourth Draw 2 card, and so on. Wild (shown as a circle showing all four colors): This card can be played anytime on your turn unless the player before you has discarded a Draw 2 card or a Wild Draw 4 card. When played, it allows you to change the color of the discard pile (the four colored buttons will appear on the screen) to any color of your choice including the color before this card was played. Wild Draw 4 (shown as a +4 on the card's upper left and lower right corners with 4 cards showing all four colors on the center): Like the regular Wild card, it can be played anytime on your turn unless the player before you has discarded a Draw 2 card. When played, it allows you to change the color of the discard pile as with the regular Wild card and it also forces the next player to draw 4 cards unless they can play another Wild Draw 4 card. Like the Draw 2 card, it can be stacked to force the next player to draw even more cards. If you win the round, you'll score points for your opponents' remaining cards as follows: All number cards (0 to 9): The number written on the card (a 3 scores 3 points, and so on) Skip cards: 20 points each Reverse cards: 20 points each Draw 2 cards: 20 points each Wild cards: 50 points each Wild Draw 4 cards: 50 points each The cards are as follows: 19 Red cards (one 0 and two each of 1 to 9) 19 Yellow cards (one 0 and two each of 1 to 9) 19 Green cards (one 0 and two each of 1 to 9) 19 Blue cards (one 0 and two each of 1 to 9) 8 Skip cards (2 in each color) 8 Reverse cards (2 in each color) 8 Draw 2 cards (2 in each color) 4 Wild cards 4 Wild Draw 4 cards
