Chapter 1: It all started the day that Raven grew. Not like a normal middle schooler grows, unless ten feet was normal for your middle school. The day had started with a nightmare. She was in a cage surrounded by fire with a redheaded adult who had green smoke coming from their eyes and mouth. The adult was saying something that she couldn't catch. She heard the first word before she woke up. The word was "a". Very helpful. She woke up in her math class. She must have dosed off during long division (Who doesn't?). "Miss Anderson," Her least favorite teacher, Ms. E snapped. "We're you sleeping in my class?" And for the first time ever, Raven realized what the E stood for as she watched her teacher drop to the floor and slither, like a snake, up to her desk. She remembered her greek mythology ABCs from pre-school. E is for Echidna.
