THE OBJECT OF THE GAME There are 151 Pokemon in the Kanto Region where you live. Each of these Pokemon has it's own signature attack, which it will use in tandem with the Poke-Paddle to fight wild Pokemon. Your goal is to put the Poke-Paddle technology to the test by defeating the Pokemon League. The League consists of eight Gym Leaders, who can be found in various towns across Kanto, and the Elite Four, who reside atop Indigo Plateau. Defeat all of them to become a master of the Poke-Paddle! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BASIC CONTROLS Mouse: Navigate menu screens Left and Right: Move the Poke-Paddle Up: Angle the Bounce of Energy Balls Down: Hold an Energy Ball in place SPACE: Use a Pokemon's attack 1,2,3,4,5,6: Toggle your Pokemon --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE MENU SCREEN Click the various buttons on the main screen to perform different actions -LOOK FOR POKEMON: Starts a battle with a wild Pokemon. This can't be done everywhere. -USE RARE CANDY: Give a Pokemon rare candy to evolve it and make it more powerful. -RELEASE POKEMON: Let one of your team members go. -GO BACK: Go back to a previously visited area. -GO FORWARD: Proceed to a new area. You must win a battle in an area before you can proceed to the next area. -CHALLENGE: Fight a powerful foe, such as a Gym Leader or a Legendary Pokemon. -SAVE: Generate a Save Code, which you can copy and input on the title screen to re-load your game from the furthest point you've gone. Hold SPACE while the code is open to keep it open as you copy it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TYPES OF BATTLES There are two types of Battles: Wild Battles, and Gym Battles. Wild Battles allow you to catch a Pokemon if you defeat it, while Gym Battles are against multiple Pokemon in a row and give you Rare Candy and Poke-Balls --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HOW TO BATTLE The object of a battle is to destroy all of the opponent's Energy Balls. During the battle, the opposing Pokemon will attempt to attack you by throwing Energy Balls at you. The farther you are in the game, the faster the balls will be. If these balls hit the bottom of the screen, you will take damage. If you get hit 10 times, you lose the battle. Move the Poke Paddle to bounce the balls back up and prevent them from hitting you. However, simply bouncing the Balls away won't destroy them. To do that, use your Pokemon's attack by pressing SPACE. After a Pokemon attacks, it has to wait a while before it can attack again. Use the number keys to switch between the various Pokemon you've captured. Most Pokemon have an attack that destroys Energy Balls, but some have attacks with other effects. Try different team combinations to find the ultimate strategy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MULTIPLAYER When you play Multiplayer with a friend, you may either use the default team (Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Raichu, Clefable, Venomoth) or you may load your own team using your Save Code. Player One uses the regular controls as if it is a regular single-player battle, while Player Two uses the mouse to click various buttons on the right side of the screen. These buttons have effects on gameplay to make things more difficult for Player 1, but they cost $, which is listed in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Before a multiplayer match is set, the # of Balls and Handicap may be adjusted. # of Balls is how many balls Player 1 must destroy before they win, and Handicap is how fast the balls are (the higher the number the faster). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE POKEMON There are 151 different Pokemon in Pokemon Bounce, and all of them have unique abilities which you must discover by capturing and using them.
