(READ N&Cs) Calamity Is Present ♦ ♠️ ♥️ ♣️ AFTER THE WINTER BREAK She slams her locker shut and is about to click the silver combination lock closed when a familiar voice speaks from over her shoulder, followed by the pointing of a finger to the binder and textbooks Anastasia had cradled in one arm. Startled, she turns her head to see the friendly face of her best friend, Sasha. “What?” “You can put those away; you won’t need them,” a pause, “Actually, I don’t think we’ll really need anything for the rest of the day or two,” Sasha nods at the textbooks again, and leans casually against the lockers next to her. Anastasia briefly scans the hallways. Even though she was running late, there were an odd amount of students still outside the lockers at this time. Some chatting with friends or simply existing. But one thing that did stand out was that everyone had none of their things with them, not even a pencil. “Okay then..” She replies slowly. Anastasia was clearly skeptical over the fact that they wouldn’t be needing any learning material– of course she was. It's not everyday where you were to attend a class with absolutely nothing to write with– but she trusted Sasha enough to believe her. And besides, maybe she had missed something important. She swings open the steel door of the dull blue locker, the insides having faded with a few small rusty splotches here and there, and featuring the names of people who had once used the same locker in the past written in permanent black sharpie. Anastasia shoves her things in at the top and adjusts them slightly– careful for nothing to fall out, but not bothering where she put them –and shuts her locker closed for the second time, ticking the dial to 0 on the silver lock, and finally, turning to Sasha who just nods slightly. As the girls headed over to the usual first class of the day, science, they stopped in their tracks when a sudden static beep sounded from the speakers above, bouncing off the quiet walls and leaving a soft ringing in their ears. It cut off abruptly just as it had started. Then a woman’s voice could be heard over the intercom. She sounded cheery and a bit squeaky with her words here and there. “Well, good morning Angel Wood! We’re very sorry for the sudden static there, technical difficulties, hope your ears are alright!” Anastasia and Sasha quietly slipped into the old looking classroom– quickly noticing the absence of Ms.Larcia in the room –and took two seats right next to each other as the woman continued. “As some of you may know, there is an important message for us to relay to you middle schoolers: The adults– teachers, caretakers, principal, et cetera –are going to spend one more week of school off, we’ll be going on vacation. But, while we are gone, every student who is present today and the following days is expected to stay within the school building (or near.)” A moment of silence followed. Anastasia glanced around the room to see other’s reactions. A few students had their mouths agape in shock at the news, the usual trouble makers had a mischievous gleam in their eyes and an evil grin starting to appear on their faces as they brainstormed pure chaos. “Just to let you know, this is a test. A test to see if you are able to take the responsibilities to keep this school standing and…’well’. That is all and we will be leaving real soon, have a good rest of the day/week, Angels!” Another staticy high pitched noise like before, signaled the ending of the announcement. Then the full weight of the revelation sunk in. The absence of teachers and adult supervision. The students could almost literally do anything they wanted without getting disciplined on the spot. Not to mention, none of their parents knew anything about this either. Then many things happened all too quickly. A student pointed at the window, then another, until that side of the room was crowded. People had opened the windows and started shouting goodbyes and what not. Anastasia didn’t leave her desk, didn’t need to. She could tell it was the adults that had just left the building. And now, the students of Angel Wood are on their own, completely free of rules. Anastasia managed to catch Sasha’s eye and looked over at the troublemakers of the class and then back to Sasha. She guessed that they both felt the same about this– at least, somewhat. She knew it wouldn't be long until her friend started having her share of fun and ends up joining in the chaos –maybe as a potential arsonist–, but for the time being, it seemed they had the exact same thought about this. Dread. [more tba maybe]
Hello! If you're wondering, I'm fairly busy at times but I get my hw done ASAP so I'd say I'm doing fine for the second week of school :] The goal is to get stuff done, improve and survive  - So we got a certain writing assessment: what it would be like at a school if there were no rules for a week. Write a narrative about what might happen. due by midnight. Guess what time it is for Agua rn :3 mhm-- So this is what I got done in like 4 hours today and I'm honestly proud of it but I kinda cringe at my work sob. writing a narrative isn't the thing I'm very good at because I just have to spend A LOT of time creating the lore and adding things to it, like listing important events and characters and their role- yk- i'm an organized type of person :thumbs up: It's almost 1AM right now and I don't really want to write anymore, even though I'm barely into the story, I think it's nearly enough to give my teacher/ school board an idea on my writing skills and such. my eyes are tired, I'm tired, it feels like most of my energy has been sucked away ahhh- (I'm too lazy to bother capitalising) I know I'm most likely to forget about this narrative but maybe I'll come back to it and finish it :3 Goodnight goobers <3 guys, I don't feel safe on the first floor of my house bc why are there so many random noises like PLS IM SO SKITTISH STOPPP- *crosses myself and sprints upstairs/j*
