Welcome to the Eventing Competition! This isn't quite an eventing competition (a horse riding competition which includes dressage, cross-country, and show jumping) but it combines cross-country and show jumping. This competition is a more difficult version of my last horse games, cross-country and show jumping competition, created to be a new challenge for the riding champions of those games. That's why the rider has a fancy red jacket! If you got first place in cross-country and show jumping, this game is for you. But, even if you haven't quite gotten there or haven't played those games, feel free to give yourself a challenge anyway. - Controls - Right arrow key to gallop forward Up arrow key to jump Hint: use both to jump over the fences If you hit an obstacle, you receive a fault. Since it is a more difficult game, I have given you 8 faults. Once you hit 8 faults, however, you are disqualified. However, if you finish all 5 courses in under 7 faults, you place. Depending on how many faults you had when you finish, the placement changes (for example: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place etc.). The placing system is as follows: If you finish with: 7 faults - 8th place 6 faults - 7th place 5 faults - 6th place 4 faults - 5th place 3 faults - 4th place 2 faults - 3rd place 1 fault - 2nd place 0 faults, aka a "perfect run" - 1st place! If you get 1st place (it is possible, don't worry! I have gotten it many times), you become the new eventing champion of the game and your username will be displayed until someone else claims the throne by getting 1st place! The game is hard. It's meant to be. But if you keep trying, I promise you, you will be the new champion. Below are course-by-course tips!
Credit for the horse - Eadweard Muybridge Course-by-course help: - Course 1 - Shouldn't be too hard. If it's too difficult try my previous games as practice. - Course 2 - 1. When you go down the bank, run a little past the middle of the land between the bottom of the bank and the ledge. Take off somewhere around there. If you take off too early, you'll hit the jump as you go over. If you take off too late, you'll hit the ledge as you try to jump. The key is to get the perfect spot. 2. As you sail over the green jump, keep holding the up button. There's no space to take a step in between the green jump and the duck, so just keep holding the jump button and you'll jump right away as you hit the grass after the green jump, and hopefully go over the duck. - Course 3 - 1. Avoid the water and log. As you jump between the bits of grass next to each water jump, you can hesitate a bit in the air so you ensure that you land on the grass. 2. The single green jump (bush) should be pretty easy if you land in the middle of the grass in front of it. - Course 4 - 1. I think this is one of the more difficult courses, but with practice it gets much easier. 2. Jump right in front of the water. If you jump too far from the water, you will hit the pigeon jump (why the weird jumps? I don't know!). If you wait too long to jump, you will run into the water. 3. Once you make it over the pigeon, stop. It helps to get set up for the next tall jump. 4. The second jump is quite hard to get over. It's built to be just at the height the horse jumps. Run until you get a tiny bit in front of the log and jump. Don't get too close to the log or you'll hit the jump. Keep trying till you master it! - Course 5 - 1. Final course! The first jump comes up very quickly. Take one step then jump. Don't run more than a step or two or you'll be too close. 2. The placement of the jumps is very particular. I have noticed that if you get over the first jump cleanly (not barely over, but a good, even jump), if you simply hold the jump button, you can clear the other jumps without taking another step. That's all! Will you become the next eventing champion?
