DMACE [Lost] The year is 4276. Humans no longer live on earth. After the Yellowstone super volcano erupted with more power than in the past 65 million years, most of humanity was wiped out by the immense fall of ash. What remained of humanity escaped to Luna. Lost, an unusual cat-like creature with two tails and liquid body parts, has been wandering through abandoned cities and oceans of ash for the past millennia. The ash couldn’t affect him unlike other living things. After the first centuries passed, he found the first sprout for over four hundred years, embedded in the ash. Many decades later, trees and plants began to grow, breaking through the deep ash. Water returned to the oceans and small waves lapped at beaches once more. A butterfly fluttered peacefully and birds chirped in the morning sun. The ash was slowly getting covered by lush plants and blossoming trees. Life was returning He is still waiting for the day when life will fully return to planet Earth. [epilogue] I awoke in a patch of morning sun and glanced around. Small flowers surrounded me. Life was finally retuning, after an entire millennia. One of these days, maybe another cat will come? Obviously, they might not even resemble cats. Evolution does funny things y’know? I padded through the peaceful meadow, under trees and foliage, towards the beach. Small waves lapped quietly on the shore. The sun rose calmly through the orange sky. I closed my eyes and sighed. “Hello?” I opened my eyes immediately and spun around so fast I almost fell on my side. Excitement flooded through me like rivers through soil. Another cat? After so many lonely years? “Hello?” I said, my voice quavering with excitement. “I’m Flame.” “Hello Flame. Welcome to the New Earth.”
