Dearest tech admins please take this into consideration for some new tech. The Enian Navy and Ranged formation put out a contract for a new ranged weapon that can provide more effective fire support against light encampments. The diagram here was submitted to the ranged formation, proposing the adoption of this weapon to fulfill their needs. The weapon can be broken into many parts(~30) and transported by foot soldiers in the ranged formation. Upon reaching their firing position, the soldiers can put the parts together using the Mortise and Tenon Joint. This allows the piece to be assembled quickly and without much additional training. The weapon uses solid straight projectiles which are easier to care for and transport, allowing the ranged formation to rain overwhelming fire down on the enemy from afar. With many of these weapons firing at once their relatively larger projectiles block out the sun, leading to its name "Black Sky". The bolt projectile is the most basic projectile, used for the main mission of the Black Sky which is to destroy light enemy encampments, a capability which the Enian military requested after facing off against a nomadic enemy which can quickly set up small settlements, an additional challenge for infantry while also providing some shelter from arrows. There is also the cluster shot projectile, which is meant for anti personnel support. The projectiles are rather inaccurate without fletching, and thus, the cluster shot makes up for this simply by having more smaller projectiles designed to tear down an enemy formation from above. The weapon has a rather simple firing mechanism, by turning the arming handle, it pulls the firing arms back. By ensuing the arming handle is rather longer than the arming rod, and the power gear is much larger than the torsion gear, this allows the soldiers to arm the weapon by twisting the firing ropes and introduce energy into the system by turning more distance which will later be released as raw power. As the arms are pulled back, the torsion rod turns and twists the firing ropes, storing power as elastic potential energy. Finally, when the firing string has been pulled to the back of the arrow rest, the bolt is inserted into the weapon and the arming handle is released to fire the bolt. If the shot is a cluster shot the back release string will be tied onto the arming frame while the front release string will be tied to the main frame in front. This way as the shot is fired the fabric binders will either be slipped off the shot or broken, allowing each individual shot to fly separately. The Enian navy also requested a version of this weapon, and the navy version works on a similar principle, except that as it is ship mounted, it is stationary, and uses longer firing arms, longer arrow rest, etc.. it is essentially a sturdier and scaled up version of this weapon. This is to allow longer ranges, allowing safer naval engagements as well as for the navy to provide fire support from the sea. This also means that the navy will carry their own version of the bolt projectile which would be slightly longer, heavier and with fletching. From such distances, accuracy gets more important. Furthermore, the amount of bolts a ship can carry is limited, with resupply slightly more difficult, meaning each shot has to count. I really hope you guys add this in? I really don't think it's too far of a stretch for a nation like Enia to seek the development of such a weapon since we are a smaller, island nation, so having a powerful navy as well as fire support segment is the very first on our defense priorities. Also with much so many larger powers around us there certainly is the mother of invention(necessity). Essentially the idea of we will come, shoot 10 times as much as you and go home...
