A and D to move, J to attack, K to dash, you know the stuff. Space is for jumping now, and F is to parry. Holding F allows you to block, which reduces damage taken from attacks. L switches between available weapons, with the only two in the game currently being the short sword and bow. for the people who played the original and are wondering why Stone Knight has red attacks, the color system has been retired and does not affect things. Unblockable attacks are still generally colored green so that you know why your parry failed. As the title implies, this game is a complete recreation of the original Trial of Gods, with the only reused assets being the models. Every single costume was painstakingly remade from scratch off the original model, every attack was manually re-added (which is a good thing since the old code sucked) and the whole game was completely changed, with the original trial being only a fraction of what the game has to offer. This demo only has 5 bosses though, sorry. The A button in the menu contains bonus achievements that give you additional challenges to do. There's no actual benefit to doing them, besides proving your worth, so don't feel pressured into absolving your life. The B button in the menu with all the locked things is for boss refights! that's right, instead of having to go through 4 other bosses to fight the one you want to, you can just press a few buttons and instantly get to them. This is especially useful for the "Master of ____" achievements, as ones like Master of Coarse Stone or Deforestation can easily end with you accidentally killing the boss at the same time as you failing the challenge. Tip for Absolvation of Life: if you time it perfectly, you can use the sword to parry. Generally, this is about right at the end of an attack flash. React fast and predict enemy movements, attack choices from enemies are less random than they are in the original game. For example, Stone Knight will prioritize kicks when upclose, sword waves and punches when far away, and sword slashes at mid-range, though he can still use the longer ranged attacks at closer distances, just at a lower chance. Know when and why enemies use the moves they do, and your victory will be that much more likely. Also, it's not really useful for this achievement, but when Stone Knight is staggered, use the bow against him. Trust me, your speed-kills will be so much faster.
Credit to Coffee, for obvious reasons Credit to Isden, for less obvious reasons (the skeleton boss will later be implemented into mimic, and also inspired some of the changes made here.) Credit to Defaulty, or whatever everyone else calls him, for playing TTOG that one time and reminding me that i had this idea. no credit to dragon, for still not making the sprites for GK:R. ):< Stone Knight is from deepwoken, so... credit to Ragoozer, i guess? As MASSACRE is... supposedly from UUG(?), credit to Zeebee, i suppose. Most of this music was made by me, so if a certain track isn't credited here, assume that the reason it's so bad is solely my fault. Wraith music created by LemonScented60. The song (which i totally didn't choose solely because of it's name) can be found here: https://youtu.be/J1I4fYW-C1w Updates: 10/1 - Game Released. 10/4 - Added sound effects to most player actions and some bosses. Ent & Archer alongside Mimic still have theirs in progress. Also fixed some bugs with Stone Knight and Wraith and buffed SR-A slightly.
