Rowan sat down and shifted in his chair, uncomfortable. He was unique, for one thing. Even though this world is filled with monsters, myths, and humans, there are few Hybrids like him. Hybrids, the half-human and half-animal species, usually stayed in the dark and the wild. Rowan, however, did not. He was a fox and a raccoon, his two tails feeling crushed against the chair. He fixed his fuzzy blonde hair, pulled down his fox and raccoon ears, and sighed. The man across from him narrowed his eyes. He was tall, around 6 feet 7 inches tall, and glared. He had dark hair, and a mask on. He was wearing a ripped suit. “You are here because you want to be in our villain team, yes?” The man asked. Rowan nodded vigorously. His two tails wagged once, twice. The man narrowed his eyes further. “I am the boss here, my name does not matter. You are to refer to me as Sir or Boss. Got it?” Rowan nodded again. “Got it, boss!” He said excitedly in a tone that was a little bit too high. The man pinched the bridge of his nose. “And why should I let you on?” Boss asked. Rowan shrugged. “Well, I’m strong and fast,” he said as if it were common knowledge. Boss narrowed his eyes. “You may work alongside us for a day, and I will see if you are worthy.” Rowan grinned. “You won’t regret this, boss!” Rowan exclaimed.
Day one The boss and Rowan walked into a small building and down a staircase into a larger area. “This is the bunker,” said Boss. Rowan nodded knowingly. There were two others in there: a middle-aged, blonde hair villain (Rowan knew who it was immediately; it was Ash, the fire villain!), and a girl who was mixing vials, whom Rex did NOT recognize. Rowan held out his hand for either of them to shake. The blonde, skeptical, grabbed his hand tightly. In a matter of seconds, Ash’s hand was on fire, burning Rowan’s arm and some of his fur on his arms. Rowan shook his arm rapidly to try and put out the fire, and the girl snickered. The girl said, “That’s just Ashton’s way of saying hi. I’m Lisa. I usually just stay behind the scenes here.” The boss nodded, then said: “The so-called heroes are stealing our members away, convincing them that they are doing the true goodness.” He shook his head, as did Ash and Lisa. Rowan did too, trying to fit in. “Ash, Lisa, this is…” The boss paused. He did not get Rowan’s name. Rowan giggled lightly. “I’m Rowan! It’s nice to meet you all,” he said, grinning. Lisa looked at the Boss. “Are you sure he wants to work with us?” she asked. The boss pinched the bridge of his nose again - something Rowan noted he might see often when Boss was annoyed. “He said so, don’t ask me,” he said. Rowan grinned at the people who would soon be his coworkers. Today would be great! Ash facepalmed internally. He couldn’t believe that such an innocent seeming Hybrid wanted to be in their team.
