I’m walking through the streets of gold Knowing I won’t fall or faint Togetherness never did anyone wrong I’m smiling as I look around Joy and goodness, the Father’s presence Love never did anyone wrong This is glory This is perfect This is why I say Hallelujah Every tear has been wiped from my eye Like a second Eden has sprung from the ground My brothers and sisters in Jesus our Christ Kinship never did anyone wrong This is glory This is perfect This is why I sing Hallelujah And I can’t start to describe All the heavenly hosts And the angels and saints That welcomed me home And the wide pearly gates That let everyone in If you only choose to believe that you’re never alone This is glory This is perfect This is why I sing Hallelujah The joy is contagious The spirt is here And still the best is yet to come Sitting at the throne The reason why I’m here And all I can do is stand in awe I whisper “I love you I’ll serve all my days” And my heart floods with wonder As I feel his embrace He is glory He is perfect He is the reason I sing Hallelujah!
This is basically my idea on what Heaven will be like. I hate it when people assume Heaven will be “boring” just because it’s not like Earth. I believe it’s going to be wonderful and full of love, just like expressed in this poem. There will be no war, no pain, no tears. Heaven will be beautiful and overwhelming, I’m sure, with its golden streets and pearl gates, but the most amazing part is that God will be there and the whole place will be filled with his presence.
