We have two Gifts instead of one, like most people. Pearl, amazed: Whoa, you're so lucky! Tyler, gloomy: Not really. Your school doesn't like people like /us/ for some reason. Diamond, confused, again: That's so weird! Ruby, trying to catch up on what's being said: So, they won't let you two go here? Emerald, fed up: <sigh> Did you /not/ just hear? ~ Gemstone High. Madame Topaz is teaching Latin. ~ M. Topaz, teaching: Now, who can tell me- Amethyst, interrupting, annoyed: Why are we doing this? I thought nobody spoke Latin anymore. Amber, explaining: It's in the school curriculum, Amethyst. Amethyst, tired: But WHY? M. Topaz, slightly annoyed: Amethyst. We can discuss this later. Just do the work. Amethyst: <sighs dramatically> Fine. M. Garnet, over speaker: Amber and Amethyst, please report to the main office immediately. Amber, confused, innocent: Me? What did I do? M. Amethyst, neutral: Well, on the bright side, we don't have to do Latin anymore! ~ they both leave - Amber quite reluctantly, Amethyst quite the opposite. Madame Garnet's office. Amber and Amethyst both sit in front of her desk. The headmistress comes out and sits in front of them. ~ M. Garnet, sternly: Now, you may be wondering why I called you here. Amber, sincerely: Yes, and for that reason, I'm very concerned, Madame. So why are we here, exactly? Garnet, neutral: You have been called to my office for calling out in class without putting your hand up. Amethyst, relaxed: Is that a problem? This isn't Gemstone Elementary. Garnet, serous: Yes. I was just wondering where you got that necklace? ~ Garnet looks at her.. strange.. necklace ~ Garnet, trying to cover up her SECRET: That.. is none of your concern. Anyway, for calling out in class, you'll have to run 5 laps around the castle. Amethyst, shocked: Five?? But it's raining! And I just straightened my hair this morning! Garnet, commanding; You must do what I say. No excuses. Now go. ~ they both leave. Garnet gets a phone call - don't ask how she has a phone ~ Phone person, friendly: Hello, could I just talk to someone about the new student? Garnet, knowingly: Oh, you mean.. Moonstone? ~ Diamond & Co are walking around the castle. In the rain. ~ Diamond, inquiring: So, you don't think anyone would believe you? Tyler, ashamed: Why would they? Nobody ever believes me! Amber, knowingly: They're outcasted guards of the Sunstone Palace, aren't they? Pearl, amazed: Whoa, that's exactly it! ~ people glare at her ~ Amethyst, recognising them: Oh, it's you two! The guards who got rid of Queen Coral Tyler, desperate: For the last time, we never did that! Diamond, defensive: It's true! They'd never do that! Amethyst, sceptical: Riiight. Like I'm supposed to believe you. Who even are you? You just.. exist. Diamond, confused: What? That doesn't matter. Queen Coral's soul was stolen! Amethyst, not believing her: What? That's impossible! Amber, knowingly: Actually, it isn't. If you're a Stolen Soul, you touch a cursed object that steals your soul. Then, with no knowledge of who you are, you work for.. the Dark Mind. Tiara, terrified: <yelps> Don't.. say.. those.. words! Amber, guilty: Oh yeah, people from the Sunstone Palace are sensitive to that name. But Coral couldn't be Captive. That would mean she let her soul get taken on purpose. Amethyst, annoyed: Who would do that? You're lying. And Crystal would agree with me. Diamond, also annoyed: This isn't about Crystal. And wait, you know Crystal?
