They were classified as "underwater" by other species, yet they could travel everywhere, on land and even in the air. That was until, they were hunted. Hunted by the very people you know today. Humans. Hunted to near extinction, with only very few alive, but not daring to show their faces to the world. They lived in hiding, biding their time. Until Lucian was born. He grew up pretty much alone, tinkering with various things he could find. One day, he found fishing wire that drifted from shore, and to their hiding spot. He draped it with different lights and seashells. and tied it around his ears, wings, and tail. They glowed, and they made him feel something he hadn't ever felt before. True happiness. From what was a fishing wire, now to something that actually brought him joy. He was tired of hiding, so when everyone looked away, he flew. Flew through the quiet night sky, through the trees and the valleys. Flew right through Human settlements. They screamed in terror as they saw Lucian. They thought it was the sky falling, or the sun exploding. Some went into hiding, others moved away, as Lucian began flying more and more. His accidental plan worked. Humans moved away, and those of his kind started appearing more and more, looking to Lucian as their savior.
