WASD to move. Shoot boxes by aiming with the mouse and pressing space or the mouse button to shoot. Ammo boxes give ammo, med kits give health, and the energy drink makes you move faster for 10 seconds. Difficulty increases over time. Feel free to advertise!!!

February 14th, 2026 2.0: Hey, everyone! Just wanted to say that Box Shooter has had its most recent and largest update! The changes are listed below: - Complete graphic overhaul. - Character color customization. - New music and sound effects. - Balancing of difficulty selection with the difficulty of enemies. - New gun look! The old one was bad, so I replaced it with a laser gun! - Smaller bullets. - New boss abilities as well as a completely new look! - You can use small and large med kits whenever, unless you have full health. - Last and probably least, small med kits now give 2 hp, and small ammo boxes give 25 ammo! February 15th, 2026 2.1 Out now with some minor changes! - Items will now always go to the back of the screen, meaning you can stand in front of them and they won't cover the score or ammo. - Boss music changed to a slowed version of the main music, as well as a new background for boss fights. - Difficulty now affects enemy spawn rate. - UI changes to make the menu cleaner. - Made the shooting sound effect louder for coolness! February 15th, 2026 2.2: - Complete graphic overhaul (again). - Eight different playable characters instead of four. - Changes to item spawning times. - Custom number sprites to replace old scratch ones. - Enemies now vary in size. February 17th, 2026 2.2.1: - Minor UI changes 2.3: Due to popular demand, the weapon system has been expanded! - Single Gun: normal fire rate, normal damage, normal bullet size. - Dual Guns: fast fire rate, less damage, smaller bullet size. - Heavy Gun: slow fire rate, more damage, larger bullet size. February 18th, 2026 2.3.1: - Score now shows after you die. - Minor bug fixes 2.3.2: - Fixed glitch where gun would appear behind player. - Fixed how fast the gun would push back per shot in correlation to gun type. - Gun type now affects speed: single = normal, dual = fast, heavy = slow February 19th, 2026 2.4: - How much score you get now depends on the difficulty! - Made the UI look a little better. - Added impossible difficulty. (I actually think it's actually impossible but it does give a lot of score...) - Added the ability to dash! Press E! - Enemies now move a little slower. - Adjusted how small enemies can get. February 20th, 2026 2.5: - New item designs. - Items now pulse and have a reaction when you pick them up. - Enemies now pixelate onto the screen. - Boss now has animation for teleporting. (might work on this more in the future) - The energy bar is now smaller! 2.5.1: - Changed the position of in-game UI, and changed look of the dash button. February 21st, 2026 2.5.2: - Made the player, enemies, and items smaller for a bigger map feel. - Balanced the boss speed and teleportation speed across difficulties. May 1st, 2026 2.8: - Overhauled the movement system to account for acceleration and friction. - Made new gun designs! - Fixed some bugs. - Changed where the score is to make the UI feel better. May 31st, 2026 2.8.1: - Changed all the maps, AGAIN. Hopefully they are better this time. - Maps are now Arena, Garden, and Temple.
