just a buncha kids surviving the apocalypse / Yvonne never expected that the day she decided to go out was the day the apocalypse started. She had decided to go out with her friends to the giant new mall that was built. The day was pretty slow, none of them wanting to do much. The group kept walking, the loud conversations and the sounds of children crying having faded into the background, as if the group was in their own little bubble. That bubble was burst off by the sound of loud screams of terror. Yvonne whirled around, feeling a sense of dread. She gaped at the sight: zombies—but not the Walking Dead type ones. They weren't screaming for brains, but they definitely didn't seem friendly. Yvonne staggered back, falling into one of her friends, Logan. Logan frowned at her. "Yvonne, are you okay?" He asked, not seeming to notice the incoming horde. Yvonne managed a shaky nod. "Y-Yeah." She turned to him, her breathing uneven and panicked. Logan finally noticed the incoming horde, which was only a few feet away. His eyes widened, and he turned to Yvonne. He helped her up and looked at the rest of their friends. "Run! Now!" Yvonne screamed, her voice piercing through the terror and screams. Yvonne and her friends ran. Where? They didn't know. Yvonne thought she heard the tortured groans growing in number. She swallowed hard, picking up the pace. She noticed one of her friends trailing behind, the zombies clawing at her friend's feet. "Evan!" She screamed, stopping in her tracks as she held out her hand. Evan took her hand, and Yvonne pulled him up. Eventually, the group made it out of the mall. The sky was dark and foggy, the sound of the undead groaning piercing the air. Yvonne swallowed down a lump of fear in her throat.
