Press flag so I get read count! Slight blood warning in this part, but there won’t be another for some time. Chapter 3 - Traveling “Wa-where?” I sat up looking around. I heard two voices arguing. One was female, the other was… Shaike. I felt my arm. Someone had bandaged it. “Shaike! I told you to bring him here!” The female one said. “Lady Impa! I did exactly that!” Shaike said. “You kicked him in the head!” Now I was guessing the female was Lady Impa, the… leader of the Sheikah tribe? “It’s Effective and efficient!” “No matter, the boy is awake.” Impa was about… as old as I was. Fourteen or so “Boy!? I am just as old as you!” I yelled at her. She blushed. “I’m sorry master Link.” She bowed. I was so confused. “Boy” to “master”? “Impa, he’s nothing to fret about.” “S-sorry Shaike.” “Why are you so much like your grandmother, at the same time, not?” “Listen, where am I? Why am I here?” “You’re in Kakariko village. Why, we’re here to start you on your quest.” Impa smiled. “How long since Shaike kicked me.” “About a day,” Shaike said, “Not much time lost.” “Did everyone wake up?” “I left right after they started stirring.” “Did they perhaps… see you carry me away?” “I am very good at what I do.” He stabbed a knife into the wall and turned. I guessed I probably couldn’t get more out of him. After he walked off, me and Impa had a slight silence. “Shaike is just kind of shy. Also, she wasn’t supposed to bring you here the way she did.” Impa said. “Rightttt. He meant to punch me in the arm, then kick me.” I joked. Surprisingly, I got a laugh back from her. “Also, she? You mean Shaikes noy a boy?” She laughed twice as hard. “NO! Sure, she has a male-ish oice, and acts weird but NO! Hahaha!” That was true, Shaike had a voice like she was stuck in a fire most of her life and only breathed the smoke. “How was h-she supposed to take me here?” “She was supposed to talk to Zelda, and then accompany you to the village.” “Ah… where does she live?” “That's definitely not suspicious. She lives upstairs, she has no parents so she's my adopted sister.” I went up the stairs of whatever building I was in and saw Shaike wrapping something on her arm. “Shaike?” “What.” She spat. “I was wondering,” I noticed her arm. Apparently she was wrapping it in bandages, “Hey, what's that?” Her arm was a mess of scars. “Why do you want to know.” She growled. “I’m just curious.” Now looking at her in a state of rest, I saw she was slightly older than me, fifteen maybe. “I don’t know. When I was five or so, I just found myself here. I didn’t know anything of my life before that. The only mark of battle was my arm, and the sheikah decided to make me one of their own. I’m obviously not a sheikah though.” She took off some weird headdress thing she had been wearing for the past few encounters with her and her blonde hair fell loose everywhere. “Who was the first person to find you?” “Paya. Impas grandmother. She got assassinated a few years ago.” We both had a moment of silence before the screams cut through the air. “IMPA!” Shaike and I ran downstairs to find Impa being cornered by two YIga. I looked outside the window and saw the village. Oh no! “Fire,” Shaike growled, “Link deal with these fools, I’ll go rescue the village.” “He heh heh!” One laughed, about to strike the k1lling blow. “Hey! Don’t you know it’s bad manners to k1ll someone in their own house?” I reached for where my sheath would be and found nothing. They laughed. “Linkk, be a little more useful.” “Well, it looks like I have to deal with you the hard way.” I ran over and kicked one in the head. It wasn’t as impressive as Shaikes kick, but the Yiga stumbled back. What I did next was so gruesome, be glad I’m not describing some of these. About the finish off the second Yiga who started stammering, “W-who ar-are you?” “I’m Link. The hero of Resurrection.” Just before finishing him off, he disappeared in a poof. “Impa! Are you okay!?” Impa was limping over to me. “I’m fine,” she grabbed my shoulder, “Help the village then have Shaike take you out of here. Start your adventure.” I ran outside running straight into a yiga. I’ve had enough of these trouble makers. I heroically yelled and passed out. Continues in notes and creds
When I awoke I was standing on my feet. It was nightfall and the village… eh. The village could've been worse. A few houses were wrecked, the fire was out and all of the Yiga were gone. But.. all the townsfolk. I checked for pulses. “Thank Hylia.” There were dozens of people laying on the ground. None of them were dead, just unconscious. Someone grabbed my shoulder and I whirled around. “Cool it, Triforce boy. We need to go. Now.” Shaike grabbed my wrist and dragged me. I wasn’t very good at geography but I guess she was taking me north… to the domain of the sky. When I tried to talk to her she tightened her grip and made me shut up. We kept walking till noon the next day, at which point Shaike collapsed. I held my hand out and she slapped it away. “I don’t need help.” “Shaike… You’re not a one man army.” “Yes I know, I just don’t need your help.” She tried standing up but collapsed from exhaustion. Yesterday's battle must’ve had a number on her, since she promptly started snoring. I layed her in a pile of leaves and waited for her to wake up. Some time passed, and the sen was starting to dip below the horizon when Shaike started to stir. “We’re not gonna mention what you did during the battle, right?” I shifted uncomfortably on my log chair. “What do you mean?” “Everyone passed out besides me and the yiga. I was badly wounded but you came over, acting completely differently and destroyed all of the yiga, Then you passed out.” “You didn’t?” I remembered at the castle town, Shaike was the only one awake. She saw it all. “What was that?” “Nothing, pretend you saw nothing.” I looked away and blushed. “Shall we get going?” She said, “The Sky temple is in the Hebra region.” As we entered the Hebra region, the temperature dropped 80 degrees. The two of us were shivering in the middle of a snow storm. “F-find place s-soon and we d-die.” Shaike stammered. “Y-you didn’t p-pack warm cl-clothes!?” “N-no.” We huddled close together for warmth. “Couldn't we h-have trav-veled south t-tabantha br-bringe stabley?” “F-fast-fastest w-way.” I felt Shaike breath on my neck. In, out, in, out. We traveled for a long while, surviving and the Pinecones and fire fruit Shaike had on her. “L-light!” I said. “St-stable?” As we got closer, it was indeed a horse stable. “Welcome poor travelers! Come inside!” The guy at the front said as we waddled in. I didn’t know if me and Shaike were frozen together, or if we just didn’t want to let go of each other, but all the staff had to help pull us apart. I kept my face well hidden, hoping that my mother made me insignificant enough that they wouldn’t think I’m the prince. Someone walked up. I covered my face using the scarf one of the stable handlers had given me and turned to see the newcomer. I cursed silently. It was Queen Zelda. Me and Shaike knelt as Zelda said, “Have either of you seen the missing prince?” Shaike and I exchanged glances. “Um, no, your majesty.” Shaike said. “You may stand.” She said with a curtsee. “May I ask, why are two, unprepared travelers here?” I looked at the floor. Should I fall to me knees, hoping she would forgive me? But I would be forced away from Shaike… and I wouldn’t start my journey. “We were chased into the Hebra region by monsters. We were going to have a day by our village when we were attacked.” Shaike said. Zelda glanced at the weapons Shaike had on her. WHY THE HECK ARE MY CHAPTER SO LONG!?
