Sallie: We need to make a commercial. People won’t commission our electronics if we don’t have good advertising. We’ve been procrastinating on this for far too long, and we need to get started. Emily: Oh, Sallie, I know what we should do! We should make a holo-commercial! Sallie: Emily, we don’t have the budget for that. Good old video will suffice. Emily: Who should write the script? Spencer: I can, because I am never going to show my face on camera again, but I still gotta contribute somehow. Emily: Okay! This commercial is going to be the best! A few hours later… Spencer: And… action! Emily: Are you looking for some good old-fashioned vintage electronics? Sallie: Because we make them right here at Em’s Electronics! The best electronics company in the Salem Spirit galaxy! Emily: We don’t think anyone should have to have chips planted in their brain to enjoy all the entertainment the world has to offer! Sallie: And that’s why we sell holoscreens! The first company of its kind, at least in the past few decades that is. Emily: You don’t have to let the greedy capitalist monopolies put chips in your brain! Here, you have unobtrusive technology made by real people and not just some mindless corporation. And our electronics aren’t reading your every thought! Sallie: Buy Em’s Electronics today! Spencer: Cut! That was… not bad. Emily: Thank you! I did my best! Spencer: Come on, you know I was the one who made this commercial awesome. I wrote the script, and everyone knows that condemning capitalism will get people to buy our stuff. Emily: This will double our chances of people being interested in the company! Spencer: Zero times two is still zero. Sallie: Spencer! Spencer: What, it’s true. Listen, I agree with this company’s mission statement, but I don’t think it’ll actually succeed. Sallie: Spencer, we still have a chance. You need to remember that. (Sallie looks at Emily. Emily looks like she is about to cry) Sallie: Get out of here! You’re about to make my girlfriend cry! Spencer: Oh, sorry. (He quickly leaves) Sallie: Emily? Are you okay? Emily: I guess… but what if what he said was true? Emily: What if this will never succeed? Sallie: Emily, that’s not true. This is your passion project, it’s everything to you. And we’re some of the first people in the galaxy to think of a business plan like this. Sallie: People want holoscreens, I’m sure of it. Do you really think we are the only people in the galaxy that are upset over the brain chips? Of course not. Soon, our company will be successful and everyone will wanna buy from us! Emily: You’re right. I just have to keep trying my best, and someday, people will respect me and my visions. (They hug) Meanwhile… (Spencer is in his room, alone) Spencer: Of course she cares more about Emily than me. Why am I always the third wheel? Spencer: It’s not about Sallie though. Not really. Spencer: I just want someone to care about me. It doesn’t have to be Sallie, but I want someone. Spencer: Why do I always end up alone?
This is the script for the Salem Spirit pilot, I'm choosing to release this now because I'm close to choosing the voice actors for some of the characters Also included Emily's official reference. Inside is the ref that shows all the proportions but that's mainly just for me
