Chapter Five - “ICICLE??” Doug placed me on the floor and I wiggled out of my wrappings. I looked around to catch my bearings. We were in Frosted Ravine, a place I loved to battle, due to the wonderful flipping and trick-murder I can do. “Hey, go back over there. It’s easier to fight.” Blitz frowned. “How do we know you’re telling the tr-“ Doug slammed a paw over her mouth. “Okay. What’s your name, by the way?” I grinned. “Icicle Winterhead.” I unsheathed my sword. “And I’ll be your savior today.” My ears perked up. I heard something. Canises. I hefted my sword to my side. “Canises. I can take em.” I made a shooing motion with my shield-paw. “You should be able to take em, too, but just know, they mercy. And they slice, they don’t stab.” I lifted my shield and charged. But my moment was cut off by an arrow whizzing a claws-length from my face. I whipped around in the direction of the arrow. I saw a black wolf with white paws, muzzle, ears, and tail nocking another arrow. “FROSTBITE?” I barked. I got a clear response when it dropped its bow. “ICICLE?!” “Of course it’s me! What wolf has the same pelt as me??” “Uh, your mo-“ “RHETORICAL QUESTION!” I sounded angry, but my face told a totally different story. “Why you shooting at me?” He fidgeted with an arrow as he responded. “Well, those two criminals over there knocked you out so we were chasing them, and then I saw you and shot at you, thinking it was a wolf accomplice of theirs.” I rolled my eyes. “My mom is dead, so you should know who it is.” He nodded. “Yeah, guess so.” “Call off your thugs.” “What?” He stared at me. “You heard me. Call em off.” He looked confused. “You know I can smell em, right?” “Oh yeah…” “Call em off!” “No! We need to catch the criminals!” “Doug is chill, it’s probably just Blitz you want. Blitz is the cat.” “Okay.” “I’m gonna ask why they need me. Don’t catch her yet.” “Okay.” I strolled off in the direction Blitz and Doug had went. I was going to ask why they needed me, but I was not going to let Frostbite imprison Blitz or Doug or both. I am the best at technically not lying.
