I'm sure it will do a good job of appealing to a very specific audience. I'm just not that audience. But it got me thinking, what would a minecraft movie that was made for me look like? Well, first, it wouldn't be a movie. The thing I loved about playing minecraft as a kid was exploring and seeing what each world had to offer, wondering what secrets I could find. A two hour feature is not enough time to properly capture this atmosphere of careful discovery. I think a TV show would be perfect. Each episode could follow the main cast as they handle some new thing, like escaping a desert temple, exploring an abandoned mineshaft, or discovering the igloo they are using to escape a blizzard is more than meets the eye. All while a larger threat looms over the story, driving each episode. This animation would be the first minute or so of the first episode, where we meet our main characters and see what causes them to set out together. Also the main characters would be Alex and Steve and not isekaied humans (I love me an isekai, don't get me wrong, but a world has more stakes when its the character's own world) But what about the LOOOOOORE? This is inspired by some of Game Theory's videos + my own interpretations of the game + just extra things I added because its my story and I can do what I want. --------------------------- LORE ---------------------------- Builders can, as the name suggests, build. They have powers not unlike that of the old gods. Seemingly immortal and able to shape the very world to their will. They used to exist in a sprawling civilization, creating wonderful masterpieces and heralding advancements in science and culture. Until the day it all came to an End. Nobody quite knows why... The remaining Builders are few and far between, spending most of their time in remote corners of the world, building their personal empires or simply biding their time for the End to return. Most Villagers will go their whole lives never seeing one. Alex only wishes she were so lucky. She hates the Builders. They are selfish and cruel. After all, someone who cannot be kept in any cell or even meet death will never need to care about consequences. Villagers have heard stories of Builders from their elders or from neighboring towns. Tales of entire farms cleared out or buildings razed to the ground. But that's not why Alex hates them. Not really. She was barely old enough to remember when her parents came across a Builder on one of their trade routes. Worse than stealing their wares or their llamas, the Builder made her parents... curious. What was the power that let Builders rearrange the earth? Could it be understood? Learned? They were lost to their hubris and Alex was left alone in a Village beside a swamp. She was taken in by a kind Librarian who knew her parents. Alex's life in the Village was peaceful. She spent her time helping the Librarian translate old books and playing with her cat and dearest friend, Wither. She should have left this Builder to fend for himself on the shore where he washed up. She never should have brought him back to her Village. But... Something about him seemed... familiar... ---------------------------- CREDITS ----------------------------- VOICE ACTORS Alex - Steve - myself ART Backgrounds taken from Minecraft Animations by myself SOUNDS Music from Minecraft Soundtrack and Kevin MacLeod SFX from Pixabay and Minecraft Like and subscribe if you are Steve
